Re: Mobile Site browser testing, please help
Ah yep, thanks for that. Somehow my option to allow access to location data had been disabled. I turned it back on, and all is good again!

Re: Mobile Site browser testing, please help
Hmm, is this borked at the moment? I fired it up again, but now I just get a page with "Geocaching Australia Mobile" at the top - previously there was a button to go to the listings, now it's just blank...

Re: Concerns re 2012 Oz Mega.
I started writing this early this morning & have written it between numerous interruptions, and now that I go to post I see there have been a flurry of responses since, but I'll go ahead and post it anyway... If they fear being attacked then maybe they need to learn a new way of suggesting things or...

Re: Concerns re 2012 Oz Mega.
I have nothing to offer that hasn't already been said, and said in a much more coherent and considered manner than I'd have done. So normally I'd keep out of the discussion, however I'd just like to express my support for Cached for having the guts to actually open a discussion to express some conce...

Re: Potential NZ MEGA Event 2012 - is there sufficient interest?
I spent about 10 days travelling around NZ and collecting the odd cache here and there, and would love to return for a mega event. If it came down to choosing between an event in Australia & one in NZ, then NZ would win hands down. Here's hoping that you get the event off the ground!

Re: McKee Clan GeoStreak Update
Congratulations on a massive effort! I've tried a continuous streak for just a few days & it was a pain, so I can't imagine keeping it up for a year. Anyway, well done, and enjoy the luxury of being able to choose not to cache for a day

Nice! That'll be a useful query to print out & take while caching.

Re: New Program - GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife)
There's been some discussion on the GSAK forums about enhancing it to support automatic download of PQs larger than 500 caches. Aparently GS have made promising noises about supporting this, but not actually acted yet. For example, see this thread - http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=16470 (b...

Re: Chasing Records / Group Stickers Sufficient to Log a Find
2. Write about your find in the cache logbook. While we're examining the fine print, note that not only is it not acceptable to use a sticker, a stamp, or a calling card - it's also not sufficient to just write your name & date. Instead, you must write something about your find in the logbook to cl...

Re: GSAK database location?
I find the best way is to actually run a backup manually - then you can control which databases are backed up, and specify the location for the backup file.
From the File menu, select Backup...
And of course to import the data back after you reinstall, use File -> Restore...

Re: Direct link to logs on GCA
Ah, comprende! I guess you could link to the log entry on GC, but as you say, why would you bother as that's already available on the GC site. I wasn't trying to suggest that you were doing anything dodgy with GC data - you obviously have an agreement with them to allow the regular log data updates,...

Re: Direct link to logs on GCA
ONLY available for GCA caches and log. Just out of idle curiousity, I was wondering about the why behind this limitation. Is it a technical limitation due to the structure of the backend database (GCA log data being maintained differently to GC logs), or just being careful about the terms of use of...
