Hi. I had a similar episode recently, but without the driver error message.
Replaced the USB cable with a new one and the problems with connection to PC stopped.

The OruxMaps app. for Android is similar-ish to OziExplorer, once you get past the Europeanness of it's operation. Beware the user manual (egad yes) however, straight from Google Translate IE: needs interpretation in places which kind of defeats the purpose .

My feeling is that the terrain rating should reflect the potential difficulty/danger that is faced by the cacher, rather than how you get there. I'd call that Difficulty.
