Re: Caravans - Geocachers - Christmas

We have visited Echuca several times over the past few weeks, shame we didn't know you were there. We have been staying at Ayson Reserve between Elmore and Rochester for the past four weeks, packing up now to head down toward Ballarat. :) We thought we might run into a few other caravanners who had ...

Caravans - Geocachers - Christmas

Although we have spent considerable time geocaching with our caravan in tow this will be the first year we are doing it over Christmas and in a state other than our own. This got me to thinking, yes occasionally I do that! :D Who else is on the road in their caravan or motor home and doesn't intend ...

Re: Logging of archived geocaches

Some archived caches are locked, and can't be signed. Anything else is fair game, and in some circles, highly prized. The older they are the better. Little lost souls in the wilderness, looking for some love. Agreed. A couple of our archived caches were archived as they we extremely remote and the ...

Re: List of Facebook Groups

Ah like minded people :D I was going to say "old f..t's" like me! In the nicest way of course. So great to see the familiar names popping in again. I shall make a resolution right now to get in here and seek out chat so that The GREAT Aussie Forum continues to run and prosper! :D

Re: List of Facebook Groups

I think it is a real shame that Facebook has taken over from this forum. I knew a whole heap of geocachers before the first Oz Mega because I had spent so long chatting with them on here but as Ian said, it has become very fragmented. I for one don't really want to try to follow every State Facebook...

Re: A very personal decision

To make it easier to consider donating an organ just think of someone really close to you and imagine life without them should they need and. to receive an organ, think how you would feel if some anominous person had donated. It helps put it all into perspective.

Re: A very personal decision

I have been on the organ donors register for many years and Ian knows of and respect my wish, Ian on the other hand is total opposite of me and doesn't wish to donate. What I find sad is that when I die chances are extremely high that my organs will go with me and not because someone has gone agains...

We have used the EPIC centre a few times, it is really good value compared to caravan parks. :D

Re: Oldest unchanged cache in Australia

More useless trivia ... They also filmed a lot of "Tomorrow When the War Began" at Dungog I found it during a HAVOC camping event, it's a nice area to explore. Might seem like useless info to others but I found it very interesting and now will try to find our DVD so that I can see if I recognise Du...

Re: Oldest unchanged cache in Australia

I have some photos of the Frying pan cache taken when we found it in early 2012. Everything in it was pretty much as would have been when it was hidden, there was a list of original contents to compare with.

I shall have to sort them out and post.

Happy New Year all

Re: Contacting CO's

I guess the lesson we learned was to NOT try and find caches that haven't been logged in months and months. Probably better to stick to the ones that have more recent finds. :-k Unless maybe it is a remote geocache as some of ours will go for months and months without being tried for due to the lac...

Re: Contacting CO's

We respond to emails as soon as we see them but that could be later in the day or perhaps a week or so later if we are away and without internet. If someone SMS's us we are less likely to see it as we don't recieved many SMS's and don't carry our mobile around with us all of the time. :D We do appre...
