Re: Report GCA Site issues here

Been happening for quite some time so thought it time to ask. If I log into the site during the day it's nice and responsive. If I log in around 9-10pm as I tend to do most of the time, it's extremely slow and takes ages. I'm based in Perth so that would make it midnight - 1am EST. So as Julius Sumn...

Souvenirs

Just out of interest, have there ever been souvenirs for hiding caches?

Seem to have them regularly for finding things, such as Earthcaches on the weekend just gone by.

Personally I'd like to see a maintenance souvenir one weekend. Can't have too much maintenance of caches!

Re: Pokemon Go

I recall this being an issue early on with Munzee, but they did something within the app to prohibit such tom-foolery.

Re: Ammo can thief - a geocacher?

This has been occuring here in WA for the past year or so, with several ammo tins going AWOL.

Found one just yesterday that has been taken with only the contents left .. looked very fresh too. Must have only been taken in the past couple of days!

Re: GeosportZ 2016

Yes, thanks to the organisers. Alas didn't get enough time to get into it as much as I'd hoped, but good fun. \:D/ =D> \:D/

A top 3 finish for the NSW geocachers ... alas no WA reps in any of the winning spots. Will have to lift our game for the next one.

Re: GeosportZ 2016

Trying to log a cache but the ID says it doesn't exist. Is this because it's not in the GCA system yet, being published only yesterday? "https://coord.info/GC6PBFH" :-k Yes. If you're a PM at GC, grab the GPX file and import it please. You should then be cool to log it. http://wiki.geocaching.com.a...

Looks like it's taking off bigtime; "Despite only being available in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the US, Pokémon Go has gained so much popularity it will soon boast more daily users than Twitter." http://www.news.com.au/technology/home-entertainment/gaming/pokmon-go-is-already-responsible-for-...

Re: A better way to log GCA cache finds (and DNF's)

With prevalent use of smart phones in latter years, most cachers would now be using cachesense for GC caches and GA Cacher for GA caches. Both log cache finds directly to the respective sites, negating any need for GSAK. Why would you bother? With the above apps, loading gpx files seem to be a thin...
