Re: Are Nanos real caches?
Thinking about it I would rather find a good nano ("if there is such a thing, you say") in any spot (that wouldn't get me arrested) than a crappy Chinese food container cache barely concealed by a piece of bark by an obvious tree in an uninspiring piece of degraded bush... any day. Emphasis needs t...

Re: Are Nanos real caches?
What other aternatives are there? 1. Replace the log and sign it. 2. Post a needs maintenance log, wait for the owner to replace it, then come back and sign it. Come back for a nano that you have already found - not this little black duck. :-" I go to places for the location. \:D/ Only a few nanos ...

Re: Dual Cache Listing on GCA and GC.
http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#solicit Caches that Solicit Solicitations are off-limits. For example, caches perceived to be posted for religious, political, charitable or social agendas are not permitted. Geocaching is supposed to be a light, fun activity, not a platform for an age...

Re: Happy Anniversary - The Offical Congratulations Thread
Better late than never on my part. Happy Anniversary and may all your caches be found and your puzzles be solved. \:D/ I have nowbeen caching for almost 41/2 years. Caching has given me a new adventure in almost every place I have visited. \:D/ I had the pleasure of combining both activities ...

Re: Dual Cache Listing on GCA and GC.
There are a few points raised from this discussion so far, and I won't individually quote each one. I was also interested to see C@W's stats on finds between two close by caches listed on the 2 sites. I suspect the stats would be very similar to a GC trad vs a GC easy multi nearby. Both my Sydney m...

Re: Is anyone still here???
My little girl turned 21 during the week and tomorrow is the big family bash to celebrate the occasion.
I could hardly consider leaving home for some place called Wagga under these circumstances.

Re: GCA listings of caches in areas where geocaching is banned
They can not prevent a virtual - full stop!! And, why should they!! A Virtual is not caching,. it is information gatherinng at worst. I draw the line personally, and it is at virtuals. No matter what happens anywhere (in any state) geocaching can continue in a meaningfull way via the means of a vir...

Re: GCA listings of caches in areas where geocaching is banned
Same applies to Queensland where the QPWS effectively prevent any form of geocaching (including virtual). :-k How do you ban a virtual? Do they stop all tourists from visiting these areas? Sorry folks, no pictures allowed of the Story Bridge... :? Valid point but QPWS are regarding geocaching as an...

Re: Power Trails: an (ammo) can of worms
I was visiting a equipment hire place a week or two back to hire a trailer, and I noticed they have some excellent equipment for sowing grass seeds. Basically a giant hopper with a rotating mechanism underneath to throw the seeds some distance. Now I'm sure with a bit of ingenuity, this could be ad...

Re: GCA listings of caches in areas where geocaching is banned
Queensland legislation seems to work on the basis of making different classes of protected areas and then providing to enable certain activities in these areas under regulations (including, building power lines and mining) and providing for permits to be granted for other activities (eg Eco_tourism(...

Re: GCA listings of caches in areas where geocaching is banned
Just to refresh the situation for those new to the issues the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service has contacted Groundspeak and advised the Australian reviewer that geocaching is not permitted in National Parks. GC will not approve caches on known Qld National Parks areas. =; It is not clear...

Re: Senate for 2010 - Details, process and (self) nominations
After some time pondering over the Senate nomination process I have decided to throw my hat in the ring and nominate for Queensland. ruzzelz has been caching now for a little more than 4 years. In that time I have cached in 4 Australian States and overseas. GCA has certainly been the foremost site o...
