Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
We seem to be filling the numbers gaps quite well although there are some big holes in a few ranges. 123 caches entered so far by only 32 players. With 63 players in the game, there must be a lot of caches still not entered onto the game page yet! I put mine into the game as soon as I had started o...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
No smilies in the works from me. Couldn't we manage a couple of draft horses (mare/stallion to be PC)? They're pretty close to being original transport. I'll have a play with GIMP tonight, see if I can come up with anything. I was thinking bingo balls/card, plus maybe a few transport options. Horse...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
Sorry but I disagree that the size of the cache is listed as the container that holds the log. It needs to be the size of the entire cache.eg. What if the cache is a car and the log is inside a nano stuck to the car.It gets listed as a nano. So cachers go  looking for a nano and find somethi...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
I was looking through a second hand store today, and saw a wheelchair. I was going to buy it, but one of the wheels was looking like it would break. There was also a wheeley walker thing, which I nearly brought! Not that it matters coz you can have more than one, but someone down here in Melbourne ...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
I like the open ended nature of this caching theme. But it presents its challenges to find a "good" theme when I don't have much time. Maybe I will just roll out 5 mint tins. Well they were "transported" to the shop! If I can't get the bodies to attach to four of mine, my next option is a...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
I am a bit confused by the theme for containers. Guessing gnomes and frogs were pretty straight forward. So it is anything transport related? Anything? :-k Your cache must be a form of transport or anything, even peripherally related to transport. Be as inventive as you like. Be creative. Be periph...

Re: Who owns the land.
I think it depends a bit on what land... Major road sides are owned by the highways department Minor road sides are owned by council (I think) National, conservation and regional parks are owned by DENR Public places like beaches, small parks, ect are owned by "The Crown" Although some small parks ...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
(Pre-)Published my first (an main/bulk) set of caches that still need padding out their descriptions, etc. I notice that there is quite a lot of overlap for the range of numbers (80s) and yet still many empty squares. Just wondering - if come race day there are missing numbers, what happens if some...

Re: Those Badges and those Darned logs!
Well I admit it. Guilty as charged your honor! As a newbie, sometimes the cumulative enjoyment of finding multiple containers on a single day is greater than that of any particular cache. There is a saying that "Happiness is not a destination, but the journey." Cutting and pasting this experience o...

Re: Oregon 550
I had something similar with my Nuvi, it would reset rather than fade though. My problem was caused by copying a POI .gpx source file to the POI folder instead of compiling it to a .gpi file - talk about fragile!... If you have a SD card in it - take it out - if there's a dodgy file on it you might ...

Re: Trig points - a general discussion
We recently discovered two markers in Campbell Town in Tasmania about 4 metres apart. One says that it is a US Geological Survey Benchmark (elevation above sea level 654.77 feet) and the other says that it is a Geodetic Survey of Tasmania Primary GPS Station #ST1160. They are on either side of a su...
