Re: Geocaching Africa?
:D Well we are back from Africa, and amazing it was, both to visit (again after 30 years) and for caching! We found caches in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya. First the ones in SOuth Africa are professional and very findable. There is one on top of the mountain ...

Re: Photos of GPS units
Bring a mirror or just take a photo of the question sheet of paper or something like that.
Basically any picture that wasn't taken specifically for tourism purposes should do the trick ie your shoes.

Re: Your geocaching goals 2013
1. Brute force Happily Ever After
2. Publish the Earthcache that I've been sitting on
3. Hit 600 caches (I know it's NATN but have some great milestones planned)
4. Solve and (hopefully) find a FarmerFrentzen Puzzle (I feel freakishly close for WIU)

Out of interest how big is "Froggy"?
We are relatively tight for space and want to see whether we can fit him in.

We are off to Bunbury in Early January and will try to help Froggie get home. Hopefully we will get him and bring him back to Sydney.

Re: Using my iPad
I'm amazed by people going out geocaching with an ipad being used as their device. I can understand phones - they are easy to use and fit in the hand and may survive a drop (well not an iphone probably) but I wonder about an ipad slipping out of the hands onto rocks or into a creek - yes I've seen ...

Re: Goecaching app for MIcrosoft Surface/Windows RT
When the Surface pro comes out (Jan?) GSAK will work on it as it runs a full version of windows.totalube wrote:Does anyone know of any programs being developed for Windows 8 RT. It would be nice to have GSAK on the Surface or other Windows tablets.
With the USB port, it would make a great caching computer.

Re: HTC One S
I have about 8 tins in reserve. Where do you get your magnets, they work really well.
I also like the way you tape yours as up north there are people covering tins in packing tape which looks crap.
Thanks

Re: HTC One S
Assuming it's an advancement on the HTC Sensation (which we use), it should be fine.
AGPS can get down to 3m accuracy and GPS can get down to 5m
Don't know about the SIII though
Hopefully some more mint tins placed with this new phone

Re: Caching Etiquette
Some of these stories are quite humorous. Ironically pjmpjm was the first cacher that I'd ever had a full blown search with... Another story: To a flashmob in Sydney we were a bit early, about 20 minutes before everyone else. We'd already met some people that we knew and when we came back they were ...
