Free maps for Garmin etrex 30
What would others recommend? As well as Australia, I want maps for other countries, such as Canada and the USA.

Re: help a newbe please
I had a look at the map of the GC caches in York, Western Australia. (East of Perth, in case there is more than one York.) From your description you are talking about puzzle caches, but I can't see even one puzzle cache in the town of York. They are all normal caches and one multi. Please give us so...

How do I update the information under my name (Goldenwattle)
How do I update the information under my name (Goldenwattle) in posts, such as number of caches? To the left. It never changes.

Ignore this. I just discovered where to find and log it. First log in over 3.5 years.

Mystery (archived?) cache
I found a cache near the National Museum of Australia in Canberra, hidden on a metal sculpture. I signed the log. It is a magnetic, flat, black key holder, and the only identification is the writing "Canberra is So Boring!" written on the log, plus replaced 14/9/8. There are a list of names, includi...

Re: How do I load the files from a Pocket Query?
 Did it. All I had to do was copy the Pocket Query file onto my Garmin and unzip it there. Then 'magic' heaps of files appeared. It was so simple. If only the instructions of Geocaching had told me to do this in simple words, instead of an page of over complicated stuff I couldn't fol...

Re: How do I load the files from a Pocket Query?
Toriaz asked, "When you plug the GPS into your computer, does your computer recognise it as a drive?" My computer connects to my Garmin and I can access it. I'm not sure what you mean by 'drive'. Do you mean can I click on it via my computer? Yes, it's how I remove old files once the cache is found....

Blackadders said, "this is supposed to be a family hobby"
I have never thought of Geocaching that way. I see it is for anyone, regardless of whether they have a family. For those that don't have a family that's an excluding comment.

Re: Unloved - What is your total?
I was hoping to FTF this lonely cache - GC484MD - but after about seven months with no visits to it I was beaten to it by a month before my arrival. Then the cache went missing. It had been put in a silly exposed position. Shame. Fortunately there were a few other local caches to find, and I had ano...

Re: 246 caches found in 24 hours by a team of 3
My record is 31 in a day (or afternoon perhaps it was?), but that was a power trail and I cycled between them. I also found over 20 caches one day in Wellington NZ, but I had to walk about 18kms to find and log them. So I can't imagine finding 246 caches in 24 hours. However, there were three people...
