Re: Let's Talk Angels!

Will there be a Weeping Angel pathtag? I have a collection from all the previous cache races. I'm happy to buy one if these won't be prizes for hiders. I'm not normally into the pathtag game but I particularly like these because its like a certificate of achievement. Despite the fact that Queensland...

Re: School Days...

As kids we were always jealous of those American kids in TV shows who had all summer off (like Charlie Brown etc). As a parent I am so glad the kids DON'T get three months off! What do parents do during this time with the kids? Do they all go to summer camp? From what age? I wonder how two working ...

Re: Cache Regret... the one that got away.

Last year we were driving from Kyogle to Lismore and intended to do the Rock Valley Post Office cache. We missed the turn off and rather than turning around, we decided to leave it for now. Two days later a local cacher the building burnt down. The post office has been rebuilt and the cache replaced...

Re: Caching genealogy

The 2 Dogs first find: Sydney Cache by 'Peter Sturart' 27/5/01 Peter Stuart is aka Iryshe, the admin account for Jeremy Irish, with no finds recorded. I also trace myself back to here. I suspect that Jeremy actually adopted the cache from Peter Stuart, but I stand to be corrected. I find myself the...

Re: You know you're a Geocacher when............................

You're lining up at the checkout and notice that the woman ahead has birth co-ordinate tattoos ala Angelina Jolie. Noting the actual numbers you think to yourself "pfft.. that's nothing special, its only the two local hospitals".

Yeah a bit bitchy I know.

Re: Using my iPad

First time I ever tried logging in to GCA on a iDevice I had troubles too. The problem was that it decided that since I was trying to type I needed a capital letter - of course GCA usernames are case sensitive and there is no capital at the start of our username. If its trying to capitalize your use...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013

The two caches listed against wileyclan on the ladder are both frogs and neither of them seem to have been placed by wileyclan. Something a bit funny seems to have happened there as they also have three bingo cards! For those of you worried about finding your card numbers, be thankful you're not in...

Re: Logging Caches in the field using a QR Codes

I was thinking more for muggles - there is a lot more information on the cache page then can be fitted on a log sheet or info page.

Re: Logging Caches in the field using a QR Codes

I added QR codes to all my moveables.

I know I could have just printed off the codes from the pages but it was easier to create new ones from a generator so I had a jpg to embed into the logsheet or information page.

Re: Caching games this year?

Can we also ban them from Darwin and QLD this year? They seemed to be dead ends for movables last year!! :D :D :D :D (said somewhat in jest, settle down) Hey... I'm trying my best to build interesting amongst the Queensland Geocaching Facebook community. And I thought I did my best in keeping them ...

Re: Caching games this year?

Will there also be an enforced time limit rule? Meaning people have to re-hide within 2 days (or whatever the limit is) or it won't count? Yeah, I assumed all those rules would still be in place, but I was wondering if this time they would actually be 'enforced'? My experience of the last two games...

Re: Caching games this year?

E-waste moving cache race, old computers, mobile phones etc, at the end they must be disposed correctly, recycling centre or the like. Most people have plenty of this stuff laying around. This would be perfect for me ... easy disposal of the 33 computers and monitors I ripped out of the computer la...

I had the feeling that the Apple map upgrade would have an impact on Geosphere so was hestitant to do the update.

Re: My Cacher Page -- Verbosity & Succinctness

Yep. The gnomes and frogs have played havoc with my wordiness . . . Nuff said. :) :frogette :frog :gnomette :gnome This actually did the opposite to mine - tended to take my time with the logs, be a little creative and injecting some personality. Unfortunately its made writing ordinary cache logs a...
