Re: Where would you like to see the next Mega Event held?

The last Victorian Jamboree was held at a Field Day site in Elmore. http://www.elmorefielddays.com.au/Elmore_Events.asp . Good facilities on site. Camping for 12000+, exhibition and catering pavilions, airstrip etc, but limited facilities in the nearby (4km) town of Elmore. Closest city is either B...

Re: Where would you like to see the next Mega Event held?

Two cities I think could offer a great Mega Event Ballarat, Victoria Although I'm a mexican (Vic), I agree with Ballarat being a good choice (But only during the warmer months). Plenty big enough town with lots of accomm options, close enough to Tulla airport to run a shuttle bus if needed, great v...

Re: Asus 1005P - finally got one and I like it

Received my new 1005PE about 3 weeks back. Win7, 1Gb from http://www.wireless1.com.au Seemed good to deal with. Actually had stock and shipped when they promised to. Bought a 1001 at the same time. Price dropped a couple of bucks and a freebie thrown in the day after my order was placed and paid. Ra...

Re: Moveable Cache Race

Firstly, thanks C@W for the idea. Count us in. Hoping to sneak away for a break soon after Santa brings me a day off from work, so hopefully can move a few caches around on our travels. Secondly, thanks SamCarter and all the other cachers out there for the laughs we get from all the humerous posts =...

Re: Grand Final- Who will win?

I remember a bloke by the name of Keith Dunstan writing in the Melbourne Sun newspaper for many years. He wrote very highly of the Anti Football League. If anyone asks, I'll tell them Keith was a very wise man. I think it's sad that both local and national news reports often open with "news" about a...

Re: TrigPointing

Like so many others, the day was spent zipping around the countryside finding trig points. Two questions... What if a trig point exists but is not in the GCA database... Search for Stamped ID = 77101 at http://services.land.vic.gov.au/landchannel/content/SurveyMarkMarkSearch Secondly, how close to a...

Personal Safety

This might seem a long winded story, but it's not a story. It happened to me yesterday on the way home from an event in Melbourne. It starts just south of Woodend in central Victoria, beside a very busy highway just after having found a cache (GC1PVEP). Sitting in the car setting the GPS to take me ...

Re: its friday

What are you doing to celibate the end of the work week? Like C@W, I've got better things to dream about. As for celebrating...work til early arvo saturday, then a bit of time doing very important nothing for the rest of the day. =D> Sunday, don't know. Fathers Day lunch at a nice cafe/restuarant a...

Re: 2009 Cyber Flash Mob Event

With one of the Wenches being otherwise engaged (read keeping some of the medical industry occupied), and my domestic schedule being very hectic, I decided I would save time and pre-type some mindless rubbish about the 2009 Cyber Flash Mob Event.

Changed my mind. Just being here is enough. :D :D :D

Second try.

Positive Caching Experience...

Getting out on my new(ish) motorbike to find those caches that just a bit off the beaten track, and, of course, meeting some great people along the way. :D :D

Wazza and the two Wenches (2A/1C) will make the epic journey from northern Vic. I'm keen on camping in the swag, but the Wenches have had a few words to say about outback dunnies and bucket baths, so it looks like the swag might be traded for a more comfortable hotel/motel/bunkhouse/outhouse etc. Lo...
