Re: GPS reciever with video out?
I think you will be disappointed with the resolution, a typical video input is designed to accept a composite video signal which is quite low resolution by computer standards, 320 to 720 pixels horizontally according to http://www.maxim-ic.com/app-notes/index.mvp/id/734

Re: Domain name
It is possible to register a .com.au domain without an ABN or a company name - I have one that bears no resemblance to any company or business I own. One of my companies is an agent for an Australian domain registration service. http://domains.teletrak.com.au

Re: When cache placers go AWOL
I've noticed that some caches have notes on them from riblit or an overseas admin saying something like "please rectify within two weeks or get archived" but they remain there. I understand the admins have plenty on but these seem to hang around for months not weeks. We do check back but would rath...

Re: Help please ... wrong co-ordinates
Google Earth can be out, so its worthwhile keeping that for consideration. I think the Oregon 550 has the same menu tree as the 300 so: On your GPSr touch setup -> down arrow -> position format and read the map datum, it should be set to WGS84. If its not, tap it and change. You can connect the GPSr...

The fact that you could post your message means you are logged in. The cache listing section at http://www.geocaching.com.au/ uses the same username and password so changing your password isn't the solution. The "remember me" option stores some information in the form of cookie on the computer you a...

DECC isn't listed as the owner, they manage the national parks and this bump in the landscape is in one.delta_foxtrot2 wrote:, I wasn't aware that DECC was listed as the owner, nor they had an official policy on geocaching.
The policy is on their website and has been the subject of more than a few threads here.

Welcome back Leek! From my experience, the in car units are good for roads and "how to get there" info but fail off road. I noticed the latest garmin maps (2009) on my nuvi stopped showing the road I was on as soon as it entered a National Park, The road continued through the park and exited on the ...

You of course can do the calcs yourself as they are fairly easy :) Depending how acurate you want to get... the rough mud math way is to just use pythag (ie right angle triangle) but throw in a cos(latitude) for good measure. distance in km = sqrt((abs(lon1 - lon2) * cos((lat1 + lat2) / 2))^2 + (ab...
