Re: What can Geocaching Australia do for you in 2016?

This park in particular has lots of information on specific native plant species, so users could get hints or an id key to then have to find particular species - then learn about that plant and the value and why it is there while chasing the location. Many groups would just like to make more people...

Re: What can Geocaching Australia do for you in 2016?

Newby here, so tell me if I am completely off track or missing prior info, but would like to know if this is a possibility. I work with a number of community groups which are involved in managing a range of public land sites for ongoing improvement - often dealing with weeds, planting, walking trac...

Re: What can Geocaching Australia do for you in 2016?

It's 2-4 hours of work to create a new cache type including the icons where the cache has no special features, so it's not huge. Testing is about 50% of that. There are no special features for this cache type that I can see described. The cache owner makes the call as to the location, the status (d...

Re: GeGnome ][ Electric Boogaloo

Is it possible to get the most distinct number of gegnome2 gnomes by cacher? I am interested in offering a prize for the most unique gegnome2 finds for a West Aussie cacher. Just trying some ideas to keep them going through to the end of Jan. Bumping this request to see if anything can be done. Che...

Re: What can Geocaching Australia do for you in 2016?

A reverse cache would have its coordinates listed "near" the place you would pick up the reverse cache (I say near as to protect the privacy of the CO). The CO would post a note as a log when the reverse cache is out and then available again. The list of people waiting is on the caches page but I pr...

Re: What can Geocaching Australia do for you in 2016?

Any chance we could have a reverse geocache type? I would think there are not many but they are quite unique in how they are played and could justify their own category.

This is now the place to go to update your trophies and will now display counts of what you need to gain the trophy.
Enjoy.

Lastly - with the trophies that require more than 1 cache, is it possible to see a progress bar of how many in that category I've found? So I know how many I need before I can claim the trophy?
I like the progress bar concept or a "2/30 multis" view.

Re: History Cache

I'm not seeing the Flood History cache on the WA map http://geocaching.com.au/caches/available/gca/au/wa.gmap I can't see it in the app though acknowledged that is a question to raise with the developer. Apologies. The Google Map Icon was not published. A small trick that I miss every now and then....

Re: History Cache

Like a quiz munzee :)

Looks good and practical to implement.

Would be good to test it out on some phone browsers to see if you can answer it directly in the field re screen layout, etc

Re: What can Geocaching Australia do for you in 2016?

Agree. But don't make it convoluted just on the off chance someone is arm chair logging or similar. If you make it too complicated, then people (especially the groundspeak folk) just won't "get it".

I don't think we should spend too much time defeating cheaters. Cheaters will cheat, regardless of the amount of checks, balances, etc you put in. Have faith that 99% of people will do the right thing. The community can sort out the 1% of cheaters ourselves.
