Re: "Swimming against the tide" graph

So how come the Tide almost always goes up, but the Downhill always goes down (well, never goes up)?

Re: "Swimming against the tide" graph

There is a graph called "Swimming against the tide" that shows the number of unfound home state caches over time. Unless you find at least about 100 caches a months it just goes up and up... On a related subject, can you explain to me what the "Olympicas Downhill" graph is showing? I cant quite get...

I know thats what I said when we discussed the requirements, but now that Ive seen what you've developed, I realise that its not what I want after all.

Re: Some global geocache statistics

Very interesting. ACT and Germany about the same density! Would be also interesting to see what the density is per head of population (not cacher population!). The only reason I ask this is that I see that Victoria and NSW have roughly the same number of caches but SA is not far behind with a much ...

Re: Groundspeak "listing-service exclusivity on Mega-Events"

I light of my interpretation above, I propose the following in place of my original proposal. We would leave the Mega-Event listings in place as standard lists of events and dashboards. We would let the event organisers to use the forums as they do now (subject to not using the forum to name or lin...

Re: Groundspeak "listing-service exclusivity on Mega-Events"

Okay, this is a very interesting thread. Im going to try and avoid speculating about Groundpseaks motivation for the new guideline. (With bush lawyer hat on), my understanding is that sponsorship involves some kind of agreement to provide support, either in cash or in kind, to some kind of activity....

Re: Oregon 450 issues with multi caches

I also wondered if it could be the length of the description, or something else like an embedded image. However, I can now (since clearing the WP memory and reloading the caches) see the caches that I couldnt on the weekend, making me think its something on the unit rather than the cache listings th...

Re: Oregon 450 issues with multi caches

The number of caches in your GPX file isn't anywhere near the 5000 cache limit, so that shouldn't be a problem. How many logs do you load for each cache? I've heard somewhere that too many logs can cause memory issues, but that's also likely to be more of an issue if you are getting near the 5000-c...

Re: Oregon 450 issues with multi caches

Hmmm, possibly a memory problem. I cleared the waypoint memory (only 8% used), deleted the GPX files, then reloaded my caches (740 caches + 230 child WPs) and everything seems to be working okay. Weird.

Oregon 450 issues with multi caches

I set out today to do the waypoints of several multi caches, and had a very frustrating time. Nearly every time I attempted to view the description of a multi, my GPS unit would freeze/lock up (I can remember 1 that worked okay, and at least 6 times where it froze). It wouldnt even power off - I had...

Re: Full Logs

I have a feeling that a lot of the wet caches I've been finding lately are the result of lids not being replaced properly. It's a simple thing but how does one get the message accross? If anyone here knew how to do that, they'd have done it long ago. Along with "put it back where & how you found it...

I like A latitude of geocachers.

A couple of other ideas: an ammo can of cachers or a lunchbox of cachers

Re: Geosportz

My preference is to be open and transparent. I'd prefer that you knew what target you were shooting for (pardon the Olympics pun) before the game starts. I'm thinking of something similar to what we did last time. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Then prizes for (maybe) 15th, 30th, 45th. So even though...
