The increasing cost of fuel has not yet affected our caching trips. What it does affect is other aspects of our travelling, We now avoid staying in caravan parks ($20.00 to 30.00 per night) We camp bush wherever possible. We avoid buying take away food, counter meals, ice creams, coffee and cake etc....

15 for me, I don't run into bears or rattlesnakes too often where I walk. :D I would love to see a Tassie Tiger on one of my Tassie walks though, That would be news. (Maybe next month???) Biggest dangers I find in the scrub is entanglement with scrub and possible breaking a leg, or dislodging a loos...

Even the more extreme bushwalking caches from the likes of Derringer get a fraction of the cachers other easier to get to caches get. And all that requires is walking and the ability to camp Simplifying things a bit, I believe. There are many skills required to walking in remote off track areas. Li...

Razor Blade, sliced and diced

Well done to Steve, Sbalogh53 on his FTF on my cache "Razor Blade" :D :D :D :D He discovered the sting in the tail - and surmounted the problem using the same ridge I have walked. With the lack of water in the area at present, and its increasing rarity over summer, this cache should currently be rat...

We use 1 and 2 litre water bladders extensively whilst out walking For drinking bladders you can buy from Bushwalking shops a cleaning kit, which has a couple of brushes. one brush is to clean the drinking tube - it resembles a brush you clean rifle barrels with, but is mounted on flexible wire. The...

I also recommend the Princeton Tec EOS headlamp.
I use it for all my Night geocaching and rogaining.

The only other torch that comes close to it is the Petzl XP headlamp
which has a slide across the lens diffuser for use in tents etc, when a beam isn't required
(Meredith has an XP)

Geochecker

Came across this website today. http://www.geochecker.com/ With the increasing cost of fuel, getting the co-ords wrong on puzzle caches/etc can be expensive. You can email/phone the owner for confirmation, but if you are like us, we are more often out and about (and out of mobile range) than in. Quo...
