sadly b&w weren't exactly great explorers, but there are others, like stuart who was incredible! If we're considering Aussie explorers, then I'd like to suggest Sturt (Charles Sturt) and Eyre (John Eyre), both predominantly South Australian explorers. Alternatively, we could go for Australian Gover...

in both cases it would require every one to mess around with there GPX database program eg GSAK rather than the cache owner updating there name once. Note I'm not suggesting people change all existing series, just to keep it in-mind when they are building complex and long names for Caches, as most ...

Re: naming of cache series
Just wanted to know if there is an opinion on names of caches in a series? These become almost impossible when GSAK attempts to make them unique using "smart-name" any other ideas.. There is an area in GSAK where you can put cache series names in and GSAK will replace the name when creating smart n...

Renmark (SA) is forecast for 48 degrees tomorrow. Hold on to your hats people! Guess who is having a birthday event in their honour tomorrow in Barmera? I'll almost be the same age as what the expected maximum temperature will be. We've already relocated it from the foreshore to the pub - ma...

If you are placing a cache in a remote area, remember that the majority of the cachers will be tourists and probably on a time restriction. They will not appreciate having a long search for a well hidden cache or to do a seven point multi. Being predominantly a rural cacher, I beg to disagree. In o...

Re: Philosophy for cachers
is it still the same cache? Should you be allowed to find and log it again? 1) NO - nothing about it apart from the vicinity to the "old" cache is the same. Original cache should be archived and new GC code generated. 2) YES - It all depends on how you want to play the numbers game. If it is the sa...

Thanks, I tried re-downloading them after viewing all cache logs and it still misses the FTF and a couple of other early logs. I will try the PQ. Are you referring to your FTF's? If so, and you are expecting GSAK to recognise you as the FTF, GSAK won't as the FTF in GSAK needs to be set manually. I...

I wish I'd seen this earlier, crap logs are a pet peeve of mine. The only thing I wanted to add is that I'd rather a unique 40 word log over a 70 word log that had two sentences of generic filler. It's just unnecessary padding! Is there a GSAK Macro that puts in all that generic stuff for them? The...

Does not everyone use gsak to load and unload waypoints from the gps   Send 500 to the 60csx in under 10 seconds, havent time it exact. Once you tell gsak which gps to talk to and what port to use all is plain sailing ! Mr Router, I believe what you are suggesting is what the original...
