Re: N00b With an iPad and Some Questions

I am a little overwhelmed by what exactly is needed to get into geocaching. I read about GPX files and GSAK and various apps and so on and so forth and I am not 100% sure exactly what I need? :?: I'd prefer to just use my iPad for starters rather than buy a proper GPS like a Garmin. Does an iPad ha...

Re: Android Geocaching Apps

Never mind about that- Balmoral is a great place for some easy finds... wish I could say that for my surrounds (another rock wall...)
Used the sensation today with 4m accuracy to get closeish to a cache and then for the power to run out

I've always wanted to cache on my phone because of the better software but the precision of my Garmin keeps me going back to using both together. Previous phones - IPhone and SGS1 were not always reliable with the GPS. On Friday I got hal...

Re: Would you like to be a Google StreetWalker?

Apparently they are setting up hikers to go where cars can't so to make StreetView more 'complete'. Good job if they are offering but you'd have to be fit to haul around that gear I'd reckon. Re: Newbie thread: Which Garmin handheld GPS to buy?

Hi guys We have been on a few geocache with our son and are now ready to launch out on our own. Looking at the Etrex 20....is this a good unit??? Any downsides??? Do you then need to purchase maps or are the ones that are included sufficient. Assume the maps then need to be updated over time and is...
