Re: Report GCA Site issues here
B&W caches are a special type. They are indistinguishable from each other in terms of whether they are virtual, traditional, etc, etc. The only way to know is to look at the cache name to determine what you are looking for. Ah - that would explain it - I'll just keep tweaking the entries in GSAK th...

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Problem with cache type from GPX query of found caches. I seem to have an issue when it comes to importing certain found caches into my GSAK finds database. Every Burke & Wills (B&W) cache comes in as "? Other" regardless of cache type on the GCA website (ie. virtual, traditional, etc) so I have to ...

Re: Upcoming calendar / reminder service
Over the Christmas break we have been developing a new calendar / reminder service. The first cab off the rank will be a "Find a Cache on Each Day of the Year" reminder. If (when it goes live) you select this reminder, you will get an email on any day you have yet to find a geocache. This will help...

Re: Early idea for 2013/2014 race
I don't know what to say. Your points all make a lot of sense and I like your objectives. However, I am sad, surprised, and disappointed that we have to think about people 'cheating' or trying to. I guess we all play the game our own way, but in a competition of any sort, surely one cannot ...

Re: Early idea for 2013/2014 race
With the discussions of this years race in the forum, I had wondered about how one could prevent unsportsman/person activities. A few things crossed my mind - not sure how viable they would be but food for thought anyway. Penalties for placements where the cache was unretrievable for say a week or t...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
Whilst this race is different to past years in so far as the distance travelled is not the main focus, but it provides its own frustrations where the completion of cards can potentially be impossible if the cache you need isn't locally available (be it through not existing, muggled, or moved too far...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
There's a pile here that have stalled because pretty much all the Sydney players have already found them. Hopefully they get a kick on this weekend. Otherwise I hope an interstate finder grabs the lot and moves them elsewhere for others. That's the plan - a little christmas shuffle. :D :D Bring the...

BTW Facitman, I went to put a cache in one of your hiding/starting points but a darn muggle was up a ladder cleaning his gutters and nosing in on me as I approached so I had to veer off and use some of my regular hiding places instead....

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013
Now let's be clear...I'm not having a go at anyone :-) I find it really interesting that it could be considered being courteous to drop a moveable when you grab one? I hadn't even vaguely considered that. I actually personally dislike the aspect of these moveable games that results in people droppi...
