Re: You know you're a Geocacher when............................
I did a cache on the way to work the other day, and dropped into a little cafe up the Paris end afterwards. Whilst paying up, I thought that the girl behind the counter gave me a strange look. Did she see me looking for the cache earlier? Or was it the stick insect in my hair that I discovered 5 min...

Re: iCaching and Geocache Manager for Mac
I agree, iCaching is getting close now. Two things (so far) need fixing for me - It won't export more than 999 caches - the comma in 1,000 seems to throw it off. I'd also like to be able to control the names that child waypoints get. Oh, and it won't "send" to my oregon, but I can get around that by...

Re: Brand new and thinking about a GPS
There's a whole forum devoted to hardware and software. There are a couple of "Which xxx GPS should I buy" threads.

Macbook pro->virtualbox->some windows->gsak
Took me a week to work out how to connect the garmin - don't share your mac drive into the vm.
I tried iCaching and Geocache Manager, and neither of them are quite there yet.

We (well one of us) used to make acrylic fridge magnets, just used to leave them and not take any of the MacDonalds toys.

Re: Oregon 450t - loading GPX files
We have an O300 and O450t. The capacity issue seems to be more related to the number of logs associated with the caches you are loading. For the O450t I send 1800 caches with 3 logs each, while the O300 gets 1500 caches and 3 logs. These numbers seem to be borderline too - sometimes one of them won'...

If you ever want a performance test, or some sort of response time monitoring, give me a shout. You're probably saying "Where were you a month ago?" Programming since '77

Handset for the bush
I know I could spend an hour tolling through whirlpool, but I thought this question would probably be better asked to a group that actually get out there and use the kit. What would be the best handset to use with Telstra when off the beaten track? Do you have an external antenna on your vehicle? I'...
