Just getting back onto track with the original focus of this thread with the Guru functionality, we've been having quite a discussion about this on our forums. We realise that the Guru functionality is designed to be something simple, but concerns have been raised about the loaded nature of 'Guru' a...

Looks pretty good. The difference sounds about right now as there are a couple of cache that I have logged twice (e.g. a locationless in the far distant past that required two different finds for different people, and a cache where two difference containers were found ;) and one cache that is no lon...

Blank logs are an artefact of the early days of importing. I'll see if they can be safely removed. That's what I thought. I think you'd be fairly safe to remove the New Zealand ones. On the country / state, I'll have a quick look and see if I can code up a fix to allow a country to be updated. Back...

Duplicate & blank logs, and missing countries
Duplicate & blank logs Just checking my stats and logs, and it appears that I have a pile of duplicate entries (around 100). In checking a few of these cases, there is one with the text, and one with no text. I assume the rest are the same. E.g. http://geocaching.com.au/cache/gck8ed I've trying upl...

That worked pretty well - came up with the NZ flag for me. No the NI/SI thing is a historical distinction we used when gc.com was implementing states and it made sense for us to choose a geographical rather than political distinction. Since we don't have a Federal Govt, we don't have independent sta...

It's not exactly what I think you have in mind, but should work. Does that help? Yep, that's actually pretty close to what I had in mind. Just a nice easy link to each one that we can statically link to. We're currently having discussions in our forums about what actually constitutes a guru and wha...

Geocaching Gurus by City?
We from the shaky isles are considering adopting the Geocaching Guru functionality that has been so kindly provided here :) One brief question, it would be easier for us if we could create a list of main cities/towns e.g. 20 largest or similar, and just list the Geocaching Gurus by city/town. The su...

I thought I'd jump in from across the dutch and add some brief comments based on the NZ Recreational GPS Society that we incorporated back in 2003, and is quite similar in philosophy to gc.com.au - except we don't have the whole alternative geocaching site thing going on. We just use yours :) (I cou...

It must be my turn to say thank you now. I had a blast in Australia for the trip, not just the raid, but also the caches in Melbourne, along the Great Ocean Road, Mt Gambier, Adelaide, the road to the Grampians, Ballarat and Melbourne again. For once it was great to be travelling with geocachers tha...
