After atttending a recent event of which there were 3 Erics attending. I got to wondering how many of us out there. I've been caching for just over 12 months and have now met one in the field and 2 others at the event.

I've got an XDA II mini. On which I run cachemate for Waypoint management and have found it to be pretty good only problem is the slow update of the database. Prior to this GPSSonar was my main tool. I've run Beeline GPS, not a bad program, but my XDA is reaching the limit of its memory capacity whi...

I think waymarking offers an alternative for those that don't want to hunt for a cache, sign a log book etc. It still gets people to some possible great spots. While I love the thrill of the hunt, If there were no cache at some of the spots I visited I would still have enjoyed it. THe ability to sha...

I upgraded to 4.1 when it was first released and have had no problems with it. I initially thought there was a problem when I was doing a cache in Ballarat as the GPS was sending me all over the place and not getting a fix, but I think this was area related rather than GPS firmware. I haven't had an...

Thanks for the replies guys but not quite what I was after. I regularly check the stats page and apart from doing a manual count down a very looooong list; especially towards the end of the month, you don't know how many cachers were actually out and about for the month or how many hiders were activ...

Stats on Cache stats page [closed]
Just out of curiosity. Is it possible to add a total to the stats page for the number of Top Hiders, Top FInders and Top Caches for the month. i.e Top Hiders (95) etc? It would be interesting to know the total number of inders and finders each month and the total number of different caches that have...

I've been using PPC cachemate for about 3 weeks now, with a pretty good month of caching, and it is running well. I have an XDAII mini with a 256K SD card. Cachemate is running from the SD card. In addition to Cachemate I'm using Word and the calculator on the PPC, A small program called button magi...

I downloaded a copy today and after a quick look decided to purchase. I'm running it from the storage card on my PPC (2003 edition), as I did with GPXSonar, and it seems to be chugging along fine, however it did take a while to load the database with the 532 records. For someone who is doing a lot o...

New Beta Version of Mapsource
Just downloaded a beta version of Mapsourse from the Garmin Website. Definitely worth checking out. To definitely interesting aspects are the added support for LOC files and the ability to interface with Google earth. I've already had a play with Google earth and you couldn't get anythin simplier, C...

Have to agree with Mrs Bear left about Poll. There can be only one answer to this Poll as it currently stands. The question asks how you pronounce cache not how you pronounce the activity of caching. As it stands option three is only choice that responds to the question. Cache (Kash) is from French ...
