Re: Any opposition to geo-name changes

It is, of course, your decision.

I like No_Tomorrow. I"m used to it, anyway, but it sounds like a challenge. Something you yell at the world, like the Doctor shouts, "Geronimo!!"

And you may have guessed from my user name, but clever witty ideas is not my forte. Sorry.

Re: Report dragonZone issues / problems here

Thanks for doing the checking, C@W! I appreciate that it must be hard work, and time consuming. I am happy to go with the percentage that shows now. You should know, however, that last week my percentage said at least 83%. I think a bit more. It has been creeping up slowly from the time of my last '...

Re: Report dragonZone issues / problems here

Yes, Black Bunny and me, too. I thought it was my bad memory, but I couldn't shake the feeling. Ours went from about 82% to around 73%, I think, but I can't be sure.

Re: Changing Clans

When we first signed up, we chose the clan with the fewest members. It made sense at the time. :) Re movables: I have been guilty. We used to think it was great fun to hand them off to the next player, in a bag....until the 'players' left us out and then moved them out of state. I am sorry to think ...

Re: Changing Clans

No_Tomorrow: Nothing personal - it was just something that came to mind. It was a long time ago. I fondly remember some of the caches you put out, and we found.

Re: Changing Clans

Goldenwattle, I hear you. I often feel that the game is uneven. I think it's a matter of how closely the members of a clan are clustered in one district, and how much they work together. I remember when the blues were the fewest, and we pulled together (in Canberra at least) and made things change. ...

Big Thank You to Faeries

I received my pathtag yesterday, and wanted to say thank you to the organisers of the Battleships game. Then I thought again. I thought about all the hours and hard work Caught@work puts in, over days and weeks and years, without much thanks - and for free. AFTER a full day's work at his other job, ...

Re: Battleships

I enjoyed the game. I too enjoyed the element of chance. We did reach a point where there just weren't enough suitable caches available within reach, but I assume that most players would have had a similar issue. I like the sense of belonging that I get when we all join in on a game. Unfortunately, ...

Re: Future Games

Thanks for your feedback on our comments, C@W. I am eager to be part of any future promotion of the GA site, but I do not know what is acceptable, and what would tread on toes. I believe the main competition - and most complaints - would be from GC. Does anyone know what rules they have in place tha...

Re: Future Games

Okay, I've had my thinking cap on. I know my thinking capacity is reduced due to illness, so be gentle with me. :) Rough idea: I thought we could have a sort of voting competition. My idea is to have a list of categories. I suggest we have a form that people can make nominations for their favourite ...

Re: Future Games

First, I feel I must apologise for all the pr*cks out there who have abused anyone involved in organising any of our caching stuff, including games. I also apologise if anything I have ever said or done has come across as abuse to the organisers. I also want to thank you for all your hard work. I am...

Re: Battleships

Thanks, Caught@work, for your prompt and clear response.

I am disappointed that it is necessary to allow for potential cheating, and I hadn't considered it, but I do see the sad necessity, now that it's been pointed out to me.

I must be stupid or naive, or both. I appreciate everybody's patience.

Battleships

I have read the rules for the upcoming game of Battleships.

I just need to clarify one point: If I HIDE a cache, it has to be during the game period, but if people want to FIND that cache, their find(s) won't qualify as part of the game?

Thanks for your patience, in advance. :cerberus

Re: Movables

LuckyL10n: I don't mind finding a movable more than once, as long as it has been moved so it's a 'new' location, and therefore a 'new' find - that's my personal preference. I don't mind how others play, though. I certainly don't think it's very sporting to find non-moving caches multiple times.
