Re: CCCC: Cache Construction Centre of Competence
I know nothing about this, but I would have thought they could still see the brightness of it? Like how if you filmed a red light and displayed it on a black and white TV screen you can still see the light but you just can't tell what colour it is... I can only go by what my caching partner has tol...

Re: Melbourne Event 2015 (MEGA)
I was wondering who might be up for that challenge on the weekend! A rare opportunity to try for 10.... I was curious as to how easy it would be and, given your 200km experience, I guess the answer is "not very"! Congrats though... =D> Thank-you. The primary reason I had to drive so far was that I ...

Re: Melbourne Event 2015 (MEGA)
I didn't get to Casey Fields until late on Saturday because I had set myself the goal of at least 10 different types in the one day and I finished up having to drive just over 200km to do it. That didn't leave much time to do any more than discover many trackables. 8) Saturday night BBQ was good and...

Re: CCCC: Cache Construction Centre of Competence
Another thing to consider is colour blindness. I know of several cachers who are red-green colour blind, my caching partner being one of them. If you want to make a night cache as inclusive as possible, avoiding red, orange and even brown reflectors will be very much appreciated by those affected. FW...

Re: CCCC: Cache Construction Centre of Competence
Both Firetacks and UV paint can be seen in daylight. They're not easy to see, but they can be visible. A check of the FTF logs on many a night cache will reveal that the cachers started and in many cases, finished their hunt successfully, before sunset, mores the pity. :( I don't think there is a pr...

Re: Does anyone use Geosphere for Geocaching Australia?
Does anyone use Geosphere on their iOS device and imports Geocaching Australia GPS or ZIPped GPX files? Do you create a fieldnotes file to load up into Geocaching Australia? If so, please drop us a note. We'd like to exploit your knowledge of how Geosphere works with Geocaching Australia so we can ...

Re: Geosphere doesn't like me
Check that you haven't accidentally turned GPS off from within Geosphere. Open Geosphere, then tap the Grid icon in the top, left-hand side of the screen. In the bottom, right-hand corner of the window that will then appear, you will see a set of vertical bars with a satellite icon sitting just ove...

Re: Nightcaches
Edit: I have at the time of writing found 38 actual nightcaches, not just ordinary caches that I've found at night. Do you have a list with them? Edwin ...and which ones are the best. I may not get to do any for a while but I'd like to know what makes a decent night cache if I'm going to hide one o...

You can create a pocket query based on Point Nepean and only those caches with the Night Cache attribute or search for a public bookmar...

Re: Nightcaches
I'm one of those people who love nightcaches, especially when they're located in interesting locations. The nightcaches at Point Nepean are among my favourites. What's not to love about moving in and around fortifications from the 19th century? \:D/ This sounds like a great initiative from GCA. =D> ...

Re: Does anyone use Geosphere for Geocaching Australia?
I use Geosphere but not for GCA. I'm not sure it is worth your while spending any time supporting this app because it seems that for all intents and purposes, the developer has abandoned it. Numerous requests have been made in the Geosphere forum for him to just let everyone know that he's ali...

Re: Query : My First to Find
If these are GC caches, add them to a bookmark list and then create a pocket query based on the bookmark list.
Project-gc might also offer some options, but I don't know if you're familiar with that site and some of the more advanced features require paid membership.

Thank-you for posting that. I loathe the new Google Maps. I'm off to add my name to the petition.
Cheers,
