A couple of thoughts from my experiences with these. Well, three thoughts actually. 1. Almost always go for the stronger magnet. It is hard for the magnet to hold too hard, and very easy for it to not hold hard enough. As a consequence I always use rare earths. And yes, those HDD ones are excellent....

I have received this scam message a few times from different "people".

It is also quite possible to set up emails with a different return address, so tronadoor's email account may well not be the one(s) compromised.

Charles Wright reported one of these scam types in the Green Guide a while back, so when I got a call I was ready. I would like to think that I would have woken up to it very quickly anyway, but I can see how people get caught. One scam involves getting you to look at a system screen on your PC wher...

Or maybe there is a very good reason that the cache hider's language skills aren't perfect and the reviewer knows about it?

A long time ago people used spend long enough at the cache site to appreciate why the cache was hidden there in the first place. I think people also stayed and read what was written in the log books as well. Having listened to Dave from EcoTeam give a talk about caching in the early days, I believe...

I have recently come across a couple of reasons why logs won't reconcile - - the finders don't have a pen (despite it being in the GC requirements to mark the log, and being very clearly stated in the cache page). Unless the datum is somehow fixed on Japan (doubtful) you would think that the answer is yes!
