MapRequest - Testers wanted

Hi. I am working on a small update to MapRequest so that it has an easy installer for Windows (.exe). Basically I am looking for people to take it for a spin. You need Java 1.4.1 installed, and (ideally) Ozi Explorer installed. I'm after some feedback on whether the installer/uninstaller and start m...

AFAIK it is a state issue, but in general it varies a lot. I don't think I would generalise to "most". I would probably go for "very few". :) e.g. For tidal areas of NSW, private property probably extends to the mean high water mark, which means you can probably walk past at low tide. For private pr...

If you are using XP, why do you need any extra software?

If you enable the "Show common tasks in folders" folder option, any folder containing images will have a link for "View as a slide show".

I have been thinking of installing it. Are there any issues with receiving calls from behind a NAT router?

If you do serious thinking and seriously apply yourself to searching, but don't find it, then it's a puzzling cache. :D

I agree. The cache is certainly a challenge. We knew what we were getting ourselves in for.

That's not to say that we actually found the cache mind you.

I have the 2004 edition of mapsheets and they work fine (once converted to ozf2 format as per riblit's post). The .map files specify where the real corners of the maps are so that Ozi knows which part of the image is the border (e.g. for moving map mode). There are probably utilities that can cut of...

The other thing to check are your connection settings. If you were previously connecting via IR then I presume you were using "pass through" via your PC. You want to tell Pocket IE to use the wifi card connection.

Added NASA OnEarth Web map (includes Landsat 7 photos) This one is falling in a heap for me. Click "Select Map", double click NASA OnEarth Web Map Server. It will tell you to select at least one layer (WMS map sites don't have "default" layers.) Click the Layers button and check something like "WMS...

I had a go at getting these maps to work ... http://citymap.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/ ... but kept getting errors. Can someone else have a crack at it? Oops. I did actually get this one working, but I didn't have it on backup when I lost some files. Your config was close. Try this: (Note that when y...
