Re: Home Co-ords

Just a helpful tip. List your local cemetery, police or fire station instead of your actual co-ords.

... Downside is you have to be both a premium member & use GSAK... How is that a downside :?: :? The 'Downside' is that original question was posted by someone who is only 2 weeks into caching. You would presume they wouldn't have tapped into all of the bits 'We' take for granted. I took me ages be...

Personally bought the Nuvi 500 for the same reason. It failed for me as it wasn't as accurate as I'd like. I would look at a Nuvi with Sirf III then find the GSAK marco to load the GPX files into the Nuvi. Downside is you have to be both a premium member & use GSAK. <p>Currently used a Nuvi 660 for ...

If you can only 'hide' a small cache, make sure the logbook is also small.<BR>Cut it down it fit - don't fold it!!! <BR>Too may people are rushing to hide caches without preparing them properly.

Very sucessfully for the last 2 yrs with Nuvi 660, Very accurate. Mostly caching within 20mins from car. I have also bought the Nuvi 500 but found it doesn't have Sirf III so it behaves just like Bundy says (sorry Bundy, I just hate it now & it lives in the work truck). <p>There is also a GSAK marco...

Ignored Found File

The My Finds Pocket Query loaded in GSAK is 1 short of GC.com overall finds. I ran it again to find this note after loading under the totals <BR>" Ignored because in permanent delete list"<BR>Any ideas where to find this. I would presume it may be something I've done in my early days of playing with...

As finders, we too are responsible for the caching demise. Why do people thank others for a cache that is of poor quality. I've found the most dank, damp, small piece of crap cache which has been placed by the hider in the poorest of fashion in the worst of places & other finders have thanked them!!...

Do not wrap your cache in a rubbish/plastic bag ... PERIOD .... <P>No ifs, no buts about it. If the cache isn't waterproof without out, it won't be with it either. The bag collects moisture, spiders & the like & the unwaterproof cache becomes damp. I actively remove ALL bags I come across. If you're...

For all of those who are pro micro, in your cache notes explain why the cache is here eg. First kiss, scenery, tough mother of a hide. It may make the finder more appreciative of your cache hide. I am not a micro lover but if you can make me believe in the caches' value, it will make me write someth...
