Re: States of the Nation Scavenger Hunt and hides

With our main code writer out of the country, issues such as this cannot be fixed as promptly as we're used to. Please bear with us until we can implement a solution.

Re: 2017/2018 Summer Game

LOL the oldest cache in South Australia http://geocaching.com.au/cache/tp2732 was a trig listed in 2009 and you can still get the FTF on it if you are willing to travel to the middle of outback Australia....... The aspect for the South Australian-specific scavenge is elevation, not hidden date. Eit...

Re: 2017/2018 Summer Game

A question regarding the finds. As more scavenges come on line, can we log them as long as we have found a qualifying cache during the game period. In other words, if I log a locationless cache today, and it get added to the list next week, can I log it next week? No. Point 4 of the rules states: G...

Re: 2017/2018 Summer Game

I'm not sure how GCA et their altitude data, but I suspect it's from Google, as I know GSAK can get altitude data for geocaches via Google. If you look at an existing cache page that's in the vicinity of where you might like to hide your cache, you cab then click on the map for that cache and turn o...

Re: 2017/2018 Summer Game

Do all cache type apply to the listed scavenger categories, eg moveables, virtuals and geocacher? The way I read it is that they do, just some are lower in points is that correct?? Yep, that's correct. Any cache type that shows up in the values list at the bottom of this page: http://geocaching.com...

Re: 2017/2018 Summer Game

Just wanting to check: "Geocaches you claim for the game must be claimed in the game after the scavenge commences and before the scavenge concludes." Does this mean I can find 10 geocaches in one day at the start of the game, and claim them at any point throughout the game period? Or do the find da...

Re: Report dragonZone issues / problems here

If however, it includes the subsequent travels of moveables, surely this opens up an entire new element? Yep. The element of fun and chance. Based on the order of logs distance is calculated between caches. A to b is 10km. B to c is 20km. C to d is 5km but is a moveable so when it moves it changes ...

Re: Report dragonZone issues / problems here

Moving caches will skew the distance trophy. As caches that you have previously found continue to move, so too will the distance you've travelled increase. This is a known quirk, and actually adds a bit of fun to the dragonZone trophy aspect. The good thing about this is that everyone is in the sam...

Re: Report dragonZone issues / problems here

Not so much an issue as a question that I'm not sure where to pose. How does the distance thing work? I notice there are trophies for distance traveled geocaching. I even have an Abel Tasman for circumnavigating the world twice but I'm not sure how I earned it. Is it the sum of the distances betwee...

Re: Circumnavigate the planet for dZ trophies

There are new dragonZone trophies available to be claimed! We have four new trophies up for grabs that reward those intrepid explorers who travel great distances in search of geocaches. For every 40,075km you travel between valid dragonZone geocaches, you effectively circumnavigate the world. These...

Re: Cathedrals of Australia series

We could have logged the two in Port Pirie, SA last weekend as we were up there visiting family. Gives us something to look forward to on our next visit! I noticed that one of your virtuals is listed in the wrong state: Cathedrals in Australia - St Paul's Cathedral, Sale (GA10847) http://geocaching....
