help with puzzle Frog Rivett

Could anyone assist with this clue?

S 35 18.((Sum(letters values of the X word in poem)x11)-20)
now I have the X value but what does it mean about letter values?
I originally thought a=1,b=2 but possibly not yielding correct answer.
Is there another common value for letters?

cabling options for the eTrex GPS

There seems to be a few cables for this GPS unit, and price is a priority, whats the best option to go with?
