So if I understand it correctly,... if I had the right sort of mobile phone I could ring a number and get a cache info print out on my phone screen. Therefore (I'm now guessing) some generous soul, like Pesky, has to transcribe the cache info into the place I call to get the info. Am I on the right ...

First Page

Is there an easy way to access the early pages on geocaching.com? Now that we have over 1300 aust caches it is just too much to step back in 25 lot pages.

Vertical surfaces (like cliffs and buildings) can cause sat signal reflections and consequently realy jumpy position info. If you leave your SporTTrak still (as Swampy says) it will start averaging to refine its positioning. Another technique you can sometimes use in bad coverage areas is to move aw...

I don't really have any idea what WAP is. Does it come in colours? And is it safe for the kiddies? Despite that, go with Victoria Squircle for South Australia. After all, it is the spot where everything else is officially measured from in this State, even though the coords mentioned there are wrong....

Thanks for the plug, piggy. Briefly my thoughts: At the very bottom of the market my pick would be the new Garmin Geko 201 over the eTrex(slightly less capable, more expensive), Magellen 310 (less capable) and Geko 101(no external power or computer capability). At the lower mid range my clear choice...

Too right Piggy! I spend half my day pouring over maps planning my hides and finds. For the June get-together I've already sorted eight caches in eight towns eight times....

No I don't want the little maps back. I like to start with some thinking to locate the caches. First I look at the coords and do a little imagining to work out the location...that is usually hopeless so I click on the 'Nearest Caches" link...that narrows it down a bit so then I click on the "make th...

I use OziExplorer with The South Australian Topomap Mount Lofty Ranges CD (1:50,000 scale) for metro and nearer country, Switch to NATMAP Raster 250k for further out/interstate. CacheMonkey is good for downloads. I know I'm a dinosaur but I still prefer to look at a paper map.
