Re: What to use for a logbook for a waterbottle cache container?
If you get a piece of tubing just smaller in diameter than the water bottle mouth and put your log sheet and pencil in the tube it is easy for the finder to remove and replace and protects the log from slipping sideways and being damaged during removal. PS not my idea but a useful BobfromElsewhere (...

Re: Clan Minotaur
Going well clan. 2 of our members, Youngoldfella and Whitewebbs have already reached the magic 20 scavenges - well done. Lets keep scavenging - all scavenges count whether high or low scoring.

Re: GeosportZ 2016
Congratulations to all the medal winners, an awesome effort. Thanks to Sol De Lune, LouiseAnn and Caughtatwork and all the other back room fairies who had a hand in organising the game. We had a lot of fun playing and look forward to the next game.

Hello Furrhan
Walking poles on ebay at $20 for two pairs. Not as robust as the expensive varieties but just as handy. We've had ours for several years.

Re: So where/how do you draw the line re safety?
We usually carry disposable gloves but rarely put them on. We use our walking poles as probes and have a small under auto inspection mirror on an extendable rod for looking around corners. The latter can be purchased quiet cheaply from the cheap auto supply shops.

Re: Any lessons for the newbies to be learnt here?
Always look for the older caches when we are travelling. Its a real thrill to find a large cache pre 2005 with its original log book. Do not like finding rusty mint tins with soggy logs

Re: Cache found longest distance from coords
We have had several finds where the listed coordinates were kilometers away but local knowledge and the fact that the hider had hidden other caches at the same time allowed us to find the cache. Malua GC4YA3M was found 11.8km from the listed coordinates and Outlook Mt Roland GC3C5NM was 111.2km from...

Mass logging by donuts4711
This morning we received Found logs on nearly all of our caches. The logs were by donuts4711 dated 1 April 2015(April fool?). Some of our caches were published after this date. This team appears to have joined GC on Feb 8 2016 and logged caches across Vic, Tas and SA all for the same date. We checke...

The Update button on the top left of my Trophy page seems to have disappeared. Have I missed an announcement or is there a problem?

Re: Sistema and glue
Forgot to add that the spray adhesive process can take a while as you need to add one thin layer at a time.
