Walking poles on ebay at $20 for two pairs. Not as robust as the expensive varieties but just as handy. We've had ours for several years.

We usually carry disposable gloves but rarely put them on. We use our walking poles as probes and have a small under auto inspection mirror on an extendable rod for looking around corners. The latter can be purchased quiet cheaply from the cheap auto supply shops.

Always look for the older caches when we are travelling. Its a real thrill to find a large cache pre 2005 with its original log book. Do not like finding rusty mint tins with soggy logs

We have had several finds where the listed coordinates were kilometers away but local knowledge and the fact that the hider had hidden other caches at the same time allowed us to find the cache. This morning we received Found logs on nearly all of our caches. The logs were by donuts4711 dated 1 April 2015(April fool?). Some of our caches were published after this date.
