Dashboard stats

I just noticed that on the Australia dashboard, the cache 'First to Florey' is listed as having 5 finds. When I went to the ACT dashboard, it shows as having 11 finds. I haven't checked others, but I would have expected all stats to come from one source and to therefore be consistent. Any ideas what...

Um, while you're fixing this stuff, two of my US caches are showing up as "unknown". I think the caches are General of the Armies (GC8348) and The View of an Honest Man (GCEB2). It would be great if you could sort these out, too. A couple of other Aussies, including Maccamob have also visited these ...

I'm like Skippy, my handwriting isn't great so I usually try and keep the logbook entry short, and maybe put a bit more in the online log. I like to read the logs that have a bit of a story about people's experience getting to GZ and finding the cache. The funny stories of people's silly mistakes or...

I never phone for help when I'm out in the field. I always wait till I get home, and send an email either to someone I know who's found the cache recently, or the owner if I don't know any of the recent finders. When I say "never", there is one exception to this rule! If I'm having trouble with a ca...

We'll have to get the forum stars updated, so that people can choose whether they've found x number of 'cashes' or x 'kayshes', depending on which school they went to

Hey Mtrax, If you want definitive boundaries, you need to use the suburb boundaries as defined in the Australian Standard Geographic Classification (Cat. no. 1216.0 I believe from the ABS website). Caughtatwork can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the info used here is proximity to centroid of...

Always allow HTML - off by default?

I may be wrong about this, but it seems that nearly every newbie who posts on the forum asks for or needs advice on disabling the "Always allow HTML" option in their profile.

Would it be better to set it to 'no' as the default option when new profiles are created? Is this possible?

SuperJaz and I used a Garmin eTrex for our first year of caching, and I'd recommend it as a good 'starting' unit. It's a good, solid reliable unit, but doesn't cost. It does the job finding caches, and we use Google Maps/Google Earth and the good old street directory to get us in the right spot. The...

I'm with the 'nos'...the best way to avoid suspicion is to avoid caches placed in locations likely to attract suspicion. An official ID, unless one that included strong anti-faking technology such as passports, would only provide the undesirable types with an opportunity to present a 'legitimate' pr...

I agree with dak's point. Respect serious discussion posts and requests for help. There are plenty of opportunities to carry on light hearted or off-topic discussions in other threads. It just makes the forum more usable.

Does anyone know "see saw 4"?

I'm trying to contact a cacher by the name of see saw 4. Their GC profile says they're from Macedon in Victoria. Does anyone know him/her/them? They have my TB Wilbury the travelling dragon - they've had him for over three months, and haven't responded to my emails. Curiously, they have only logged ...

It's unfinished on my laptop. My excuses include...I'm sticking by them. Life getting in the way of stuff is only to be expected and a perfectly reasonable excuse! I just wanted to check that you hadn't come down with something serious, or been adbucted by aliens without letting everyone know first!

It's been a month since ep 18 was released - where's ep 19?

I know Spindoc Bob does a bit of travelling, but I don't recall him saying he was going to be away for this long, did I miss some news?
