mildura is a pretty ideal spot. bang in the centre of most It does seem an ideal location as it is central to the south eastern states and central to the over all geocacher density. Are their many/any geocachers living near there? does anyone go there regularly? If this event comes off and is a big...

If you are interested in the latest happenings in the community, check out the Geocaching Australia Newsletter. No offence or criticism to EcoDave. I know how much of a PITA it is to edit a newsletter and chase people for material. I've done it for the League of Silent Flight and Neighbourhoo...

Mate we ran out of beer bundy and coke in May. There's no way known we'd have been able to carry enough to get from Halls Creek to Well 46 in Jan. As for tyres you really would have to have faith in someone's product & maybe in a higher power. The motorbike boots one of our guys was wearing desoled ...

Hi TA,

Would you go back in January?

Did you read the chapter in Eric & Ronelle Gards book about the Army Cadets that did it in Dec/Jan?

Not for this little black duck!

Hi all, I am going to attempt to find Australia's two oldest unfound caches early in January. These are Queen Victoria Spring and Plane Wreck. I will be passing these caches on my way to Perth so I might as well have a look whilst I am in the area. cheers Equinox There's not exactly any such thing ...

I have pulled at least two caches locally that have filled with water when out of towners have placed caches below minor flood levels. I then salvage what can be salvaged - particularly log books - and contact the owner. In one case I arranged the replacement (ammo box) and it's replacement by anoth...

Given that the start up cost of caching is well into the hundreds and in some cases thousands (good GPS, home computer, internet access and maybe a PDA) I doubt that premium membership restrictions mean zip. I signed up as a premium member within days of doing my first cache and bought a pda less th...

Thanks Ideology. I couldn't work out why it was archived on yours but not on theirs. No Riblit - I didn't archive it. That's why I asked the question. It is sometimes wise only to ask questions to which you know the answer - but in this case I was seeking wisdom from someone else who knew the answer...

Haven't found anything outstanding, though I use a mini carabiner out of a cache every day on my keys. I left a $45 fishing reel as a first finders prize in Fishing around for a cache at Merimbula. The family who found it's kid was apparently very pleased. Definately a feel good moment when I got th...

Would you do it? II

Hmmm. Other potentially disastrous or dumb things I have done with my GPS. Put it in the front of a remote control scale glider to track path, speed and distance from pilot at which glider becomes too small in the sky to fly comfortably..... Answers over 200kmh, 26km in one 35min flight and 840m fro...
