I went and had another look at the explorist XL on the weekend - It is growing on me and doesn't seem as big the second time I looked at it. I think I might be talking myself into getting one :)

I went for a bit of a road trip today (5 hours) and my wife offered to drive - a great day play...

would be good to get a chance to compare the 600 and XL next to each as for screen size and resolution.

The eXplorist 100 (my "old" unit) has the same size screen as the 600 - and I can tell you that by comparison the XL screen is huge. At 3.5 inches diagonal measurement, the XL screen is ...

I saw it. It was a claim for "See You At Sunrise" GCKMEP by GeoMonkeys (Pesky! on GCA). It was claimed by Spruce Mooses from Victoria. They got bought into the studio with about 8 other people (there was so few peple in the"crowd" that all were invited in) and were the last to be asked "Wher are you...

What affects GPSr Accuracy?

When looking for a cache and finding that the coordinates vary from where I have been looking, I have put this down to "different day, different satellite configuration". But I am now wondering if this is the case.

I recently went to an event and teamed up with two others to look for a loca...

I only started caching earlier this year after I got an explorist 100 late 2004 - no reason, just had to have a GPS. The one drawback I found was that my failing eyes (something to do with the aging process I have been told!) didn't allow me to read it in failing light - backlight actually made it w...

Central Coast / Gosford

I've had my Explorist 100 (bought from KMart in fact during one of their 15% off sales) since Nov '04c and find it good and have no problems. Not that I have used any other GPS, but as an entry level device it's excellent, plus it fits in my top pocket.
