Re: Early idea for 2013/2014 race

Sounds like a good concept. To cut costs, you could consider making the virtual pathtags in the 4 colours for 1st place through to 4th place, but only get the physical pathtag in one colour. Everyone gets the same colour pathtag for playing (& if they contribute to the pathtag fund - I'd be happy to...

Re: Streaking...

I've heard there's a 120 day streak challenge somewhere in the southern suburbs  .

I stopped at 115 days, so I'm glad that one is well out of my normal caching range 8) .

Re: "Invisible ink" and UV torches

I assume you write it while illuminating your writing with the UV torch, otherwise you could end up with a real mess! Yep. Although my handwriting on that cache has been criticized, so maybe it didn't make difference for me   . I really must re-do the waypoint for that one soon, if my wr...

Re: "Invisible ink" and UV torches

I wrote the coordinates in a spiral pattern, south going one way & east going the other. Yes, you can see that something is written on the paper, but you can't make out what it is until you use the UV light.

Re: You know you're a Geocacher when............................

You've been caching with your kids & stop at the supermarket on the way home. The lady at the checkout comments that you have bits of twig in your hair and asks the kids why they didn't tell mum about them. They look at her strangely then tell her that is normal for mum :D .

Re: Upcoming calendar / reminder service

Sounds like a good idea. Will the reminder come on the day you need a find, or the day before?

Re: Your geocaching goals 2013

I was going to try to complete my calendar in 2013, I only have 66 days to go. But I've decided over the past week that I have some priorities in my life that are more important than caching (please, don't kick me off the site for heresy :D ), so if I miss some days this year, I'm not going to fret ...

Re: Transport help for Gnomes and Frogs wanting to return home.

I can't help with the one in WA, but if I get to Luddenham, I'll see if I can find Bill minus Ben.

Thanks for taking Brains into custody for me :D .

Re: Report GCA Site issues here

Sorry, I didn't know that about not editing coordinates after posting a published log. But at least I gave mine starting coords, and the first finders got the credits for their bingo cards. My remaining moveable will be the same, but again, it at least had some starting coords & the first to find mo...

Re: Report GCA Site issues here

Thanks. The starting coords for each one was: GA4705 S. 33 41.926 E 150 33.751 GA5113 S 33 41.946 E 150 33.794 GA4696 S 33 41.363 E 150 34.582 However I noticed when I looked up the GA codes for each of them that GA4705 ( the one with the DNF log) has now got found & moved logs & has coords matching...

Re: Report GCA Site issues here

When I wrote the cache pages for my 4 bingo moveables, I put my home coords in as the cache coordinates. Then as I hid each of them, I edited the notes & put in the actual coords. They were all correct this morning when they all published. Three of them now have logs - 2 x found it & 1 x DNF. And al...

Re: Bingo - The moving cache race for 2012/2013

Just got in from placing a few of mine & had a mild panic with one - I placed it in the hollow of a tree, then realised the hollow went much deeper than I thought, and my little cache dropped in way further than my arm could reach #-o . Luckily I had caching tool #17 in the car, and managed to get i...
