Phew, I was thinking it was going to be Oct next year, when the Rugby world cup was on, and which I am committed to attending, so all good
Should make it, plus the kids enjoyed the last one. They get excited everytime Wagga gets mentioned on the weather!

I hope the impending announcement of the next Australian mega event doesn't put off a NZ event, as I like many would be keen on the idea of one being in NZ.

Re: Potential API link to GC?
What does this mean for the average punter (like me who doesn't know what API means)?
From my limited understanding, does it mean GCA will have live access to data rather than relying on daily downloads?

What the heck, it will be three years in a row for trips to NZ, with the RWC2011 next year. Most airfares to Christchurch are around $200 to $240 from Brisbane, if its the right time of the year.

Re: One find every 56 seconds....
I'm going to have a go at least some of the E.T. power trail early next month. Looking at the trail, it genuinely is a cache every 1/4 mile along the road. So, a team would have no problem at all doing them very quickly. I'm gonna be on my lonesome :( - unless anyone on here happens to be in Vegas ...

So how does one migrate from being a muggle, to a fully fledged geocacher?belken wrote:They may well have a couple of hundred finds logged under their belt but they are still not geocachers.

Re: Burke & Wills Project
A good book for background reading is "The Dig Tree" by Sarah Murgatroyd. Came about 2002 I think. Its a bit of a warts and all retelling of the expedition.
Anyhow looking forward to doing a few in a couple of weeks in Melbourne.

Re: Cool New Macro for GSAK! Achievement Badges!
The accuracy of the altitude is dependent on the resolution of the maps. My highest elevation cache (on the side of Mt Ruapehu) comes up as being 1445m in GSAK but the GPS said it was 1650m. The mapping grid was 1km. For a majority of the caches its probalby pretty close.

especially those involved with GCA as alot of things would not have happended without the site including the recent Mega event. Thanks, but we had *very* little involvement with the Mega, we can't take any credit for those guys hard work. I was thinking more about the discussions, the intentions an...

Re: Happy Anniversary - The Offical Congratulations Thread
Its quite incredible that geocaching has grown to what it is today in just 10 years, and the fact that in only took Australia 16 days to cotton on to the idea. Well done to all the people who have made what it is today, especially those involved with GCA as alot of things would not have happended wi...
