Lol I've seen some ordinary ones, but that takes the cake. :? :? :? Why would I want to drive there just on the off chance that there might even be something interesting there, let alone a half decent cache  On the basis of that cache descrition... absolutely nothing. However, there are thre...

Crappy cache description? Not to be mean or anything, but check out this newly published literary epic: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=0ca09754-016a-4bd9-8817-4c08b3b9e0da (Apologies for the lengthy URL). I love the Flinders area, and would be keen to go out there, but honest...

If you're going to go to the trouble of putting a TB on a space station, you would think that you woud at least add some photos to the listing, to make it look a tad more interesting.

Lot's of photos... I like a pretty listing... [:D]

I also have the Vista HCx and find the electronic compass really useful - makes finding caches much easier than when I first started and was using a combination of an old Garmin GPSII (accurate to 10m) and my trusty Silva compass. I still usually take my compass with me (old habbits die hard). The o...

Links for some the episodes that Mundoo refers to:

Episode 5 (5A & 5B):
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=WNSIHZNP1wU
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=xYtNeebcqzA

The only problem is that I couldn't watch any more than 10-20 seconds of them saying KASHing.

Sweet Jesus I hate KASHing!

Instead, I made contructive comments in the online log, and sent them an email asking if they'd like a hand putting their next cache out! Bitching about the initial crappy hide isn't going to help caching into the future. Now that's a positive way to prevent 'crappy' cache placement. Nice work. :)

Hey Mundoo, The GCA site has a great wiki section. Cache sizes and other things are explained here: http://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Cache_size Your sandwich-sized cache is, by definaition, a small cache. There is also nothing wrong with the easy, drive-by caches. As much as I love a cache that re...

Could this be another ' assignment' from a surveying student????? No finds 1 hide and not contactable? This may have been covered before somewhere in the forums, but would it be reasonable to make it necessary for someone to have found a certain number of caches before having a hide published? Perh...

As previously stated, the downside to an Eclipse tin is that it isn't waterproof, so needs to be placed out of the rain. I've found a couple of eclipse caches placed in trees that simply will not protect the contents from the element. As such, they need to be placed in a relatively sheltered spot. (...
