Re: Waterproof Sistema? Doesn't look likely

Systemas leak like a sieve when submerged. Been there and done that with testing. Old Ammo cans are not always much better. Solution: 100mm PVC waterpipe, one fixed end and one watertight screw fitting. Mostly full of concrete. Seals down to 3m underwater. Pipe is usually free and fittings are about...

Re: Rating Puzzle/Mystery Caches

It should perhaps be noted that if the stars system went above 5 a number of Zytherans would qualify for a 6 to 7  As someone else noticed, exactly this issue occurred with walking/hiking/scrambling/climbing up cliffs which used to stop at 5 under the US system. Then people climbed harder thin...

Re: Identical generated logs

I not sure that logging the short logs is intended. Some of the local teams are using iPhones or some other smart phone and it looks like there is a standard response from the mobile application. It could simply be that people are using the new technology without fully understanding the ramification...

Re: Rating Puzzle/Mystery Caches

Hmmm, I guess I should probably throw in my 2 cents worth being a leading puzzle hider in Aus. (bear in mind this probably applies to SA only) Here are some rules of thumb I use. 1 How does this new puzzle compare to existing ones that are similar? 2 Substitution ciphers of any type vary from...

Yep. Largest by far. The outer container is roughly 120 liter I think. =D>

Re: Longest without a find

Yep, they will probably remain disturbed for a few more days. I just love the irony of the term "probably remain disturbed for a few more days" being used in conjunction with Zytheran caches. Subsitute "caches" for "cachers" and "a few days" for "an eternity" and you might sum up the effect his cac...

Re: Longest without a find

This appears to be missing some caches... Such as? When I filter for South Australia I noticed that some of mine that have been unfound for 3 or 4 months don't show up. Re: How to run a Geogaine Event

Have just had this minute had word that there will be some sort of geo rogaine event in Victoria next year. Apart from a geogaine such as that run by SARA, someone has proposed a GPSr rogaine where instead of checkpoints, a waypoint recording will do. Be interesting to see how they manage the downl...

Re: How to run a Geogaine Event

And how about we have another one Z? :D At the latest there will be one in Feb/Mar 2011 in SA run in conjunction with SARA again, although there might one in Victoria soon. And now that I have uploaded the instructions, as people look at them and things are tidied up it should be pretty easy for an...

How to run a Geogaine Event

A geogaine event is the combination of rogaining and geocaching. The aim is to find a maximum number of special temporary geocaches in a fixed period of time on foot. Unlike traditional rogaines where the navigation tools are maps and compasses and the controls are clearly visible, geogaining allows...

Re: Real or Bogus cacher "dadandadd"

On the same topic what do people think about starting up a new account to have a new name ? I want a shorter name, trying to sign "Covert Hypnosis' on a nano log is not fun. Just push the C and H together to make a symbol CH. Maybe put a spiral around it. Then sign the symbol or get a stamp made. F...

Re: 10th anniversary Cool things to note!

That graph is GCA dude. I found a GCA cache before you did. This for combined GCA and GC. http://geocaching.com.au/stats/cachers/all/world/0025_cachers_by_oldest_active I think there are a few oddities, all the same. I think gahpee are the longest serving cachers, yet they're only 7th on the table....
