cachemobbing : (related to flashmobbing) where a number of cachers, independently of each other, all arrive at ground zero at the same time and from different directions, desperate to log the First to Find. GMZ : Ground Minus Zero. When the trail in front of you suddendly descends without warning a...

It looks at the logs for finders on the same day. Small number of finders on the same day and you get a nod. Lots and you get a mate. Heaps and it gets stronger. If you do lots on the same day then you end up with inseparable friends. Have a look at dak's Emu Mob and they're inserparable friends wit...

I think in over 200 caches found, I've seen maybe half a dozen bugs. I've relocated about 3 of those, so I can't really say whether they are good or bad. As someone mentioned, make it too easy / cheap and they will proliferate like blow flies. Make them too expensive and they will die like blowies a...

A thought on how to reduce (delete) the number of duplicate logs where one is NULL. Before you INSERT, do a SELECT for the Cache Name and Found status and NULL comment (log). If found, then DELETE the row with the NULL comment and then INSERT from the daily feed. OR: When the daily feed comes in, DE...

When importing logs via the import facility, the cache shows up immediately, but there is no log attached.

Do the logs ever get brought over for caches that were manually imported?

There's this one: http://forum.geocaching.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=928 And this one: http://forum.geocaching.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=1117 I've come across matches, crackers, knives and lighters in caches. Whenever I see them, I remove them. They're not conducive to the arid summers in Australia not are...

People who don't play in the forums probably (?) don't want to play with the other nifty toys either. I wonder how many people don't even know that this site exists? I know I stumbled across it, so it depends on the extent to which this site has penetration before identifying whether people are hap...

Just a couple of thoughts. Selectable waypoint ID's. Are these going to be restricted to the number of characters useable by GPSr's. ie. I think my etrex only allows for 6 or 8 character names, so anything longer than that would be a problem. This could be why the secondary site restricts them to GC...

I can see one cache that has a recommendation, but the person recommending it has no log against is, either here or on the secondary site. Can you recommend a cache that you haven't done yet? Should you? I know that sound silly, so I suppose I'm just asking whether or not there is validation to stop...
