Re: Stats idea - Top/Bottom caches by find rate

Well it's not the top finds per day. So it's not the right result for the graph that's been asked. That number is the days per find.

Re: Stats idea - Top/Bottom caches by find rate

Actually thinking about it further, it'll always be skewed towards the newer caches. Since the average find rate across all caches is higher now than it was 10 years ago. (and presumably the find rate will keep increasing again once coronavirus is over) The total number of finds goes up on older ge...

Would this work better if you flipped the division - ie. calculate days/finds instead of finds/days ? (and sort by largest days/finds value)
You get the wrong result. 5000 days / 1 find = 5000. 5000 days / 2 finds 2500. This counts the wrong thing.

Re: Stats idea - Top/Bottom caches by find rate

Have a look at this. https://geocaching.com.au/stats/graphs/all/au/1200_top_caches_by_finds_per_day We're going to have weird results while the @home style virtual geocaches are still in play as they're extremely popular right now. I didn't pursue the lowest as the lowest values are all going to hav...

Re: Queries by "Sort by Closest to"

https://geocaching.com.au/my/query/screen/10234 This is the query. I have updated the centre point to TP7079. It seems to return an appropriate list for me. Urunga (Reservoir) TP 0.00 km Picket TP 8.29 km Nambucca Water Tower 16.06 km "Nambucca" Trig Point, Nambucca Heads, NSW Australia 16.44 km Bon...

Re: Stats idea - Top/Bottom caches by find rate

This doesn't exist. We will need to check every geocache and order them so it's a large dataset to manipulate, but it can mostly likely be done. I need to know how you want to handle dodgy data, so if you could think about the following items that will help create the function to determine the range...

Re: GeoArt Geocache Type (Coming Soon)

There is currently no plan to have GeoArt geocaches grouped together other than the tags that can be applied to any set of geocaches. The reasons behind this are time and effort. I don't want to have to spend a lot of time creating capability that doesn't get widely used. So for now, group by tag an...

Re: List of my owned caches

No problems. I'm pleased to see that your opinion of Locationless geocaches may have changed. While they are not for everyone, they do help people who are in cache poor areas find something or those who are home bound to join in with our special Locationless @ Home geocaches.

Re: 2020 Game of Games

Thanks. The game was originally set to the 18th of May because that's the "day", but when I changed it to the @Home requirement I forgot to reset the date to the whole month. This has now been corrected and so far I am loving the plants. https://geocaching.com.au/gallery/cache/ga14544 https://geocac...

To Geocaching Australia a geocache is a geocache is a geocache so that would be all of the finds you have logged against Geocaching Australia geocaches.
