I agree, what may turn out to be a pure coincidence from a newbie should not be taken to the extreme.
Hope it all works out in the end,

Re: 70 +caches in a day... How do you do it ?
5 years ago whilst travelling in SA, woke up in the morning, packed up the camper trailer, packed the family (2YO, 6 week old and wife) into car and just drove. Pulled into a campsite before dark and had found 30 caches without planning. These days with some planning it is quite feasible in the righ...

The original thread of Tronador's is still there....i suspect you are watching and posting on this suspect OP's thread instead of your own and then a couple days later (today) it has been hidden/deleted.

Re: Using the Garmin Dakota for geocaching and navigating in Oz
I would assume that most of the difference in price is due to newer models not wanting to undercut existing models in their range. The Dakota's (and Oregons) are still current models which sell well, and undercutting their price may harm their sales. Selling a new model (which has R&D costs to recou...

Re: Using the Garmin Dakota for geocaching and navigating in Oz
Hi AC, Unless you want to install ALL of the free Contours Australia , the internal memory is more than adequate in most cases for the other mapsets. Just installed 4 x Dakota 10's today with a mapset including 5m contours for Qld and still only used ~480mb =D> The 3-axis compass is the main ...

Re: Where to buy my first GPS?
I prefer to know that a person and/or shop exists to hassle IF any issues appear. :P Whilst Ebay etc can be a good experience, it is the lack of future followup that may tarnish the experience. Manufacturers like Garmin and Magellan etc will tell you that they won't honour warranty in all cases due ...

Hi on4bam, I hope you are enjoying/ed your trip around parts of australia. =D> Have a read of the wiki entry titled GCA_vs_GC which lists the pro and cons as seen by many of the members of this site.
