Made the 3 cables that I got and only cost about $10. made one for the pc to etrex, one for the pda to etrex and made 12v/data for the etrex to pda. Just make it Mix. I'm sure you have an old mouse cable around somewhere and a bit of plastic

My Etrex sits in a mobile phone holder which has a suction cup on it. The suction cup is on the top of the holder so I can stick it to the windscreen. Makes it easy to remove and I've never had it fall off the windsreen yet. I think it cost $5 from the $2 shop. Maybe you should look for something li...

I can connect the PDA to a USB to PS2 plug, then from PS2 to Serial (female). I assume all I'll need is a Serial male to male plug, which I can get. I've tried that on my palm and it didn't work. Go to GPSOZ and have a look to see if they have a cable. If not send them a email. I see the iPAQ h4150...

That is the way they are made. I've got a couple paper copies which are the same. If you have a closer look, the top and right hand side over lap the left and the bottom by a little bit.

connecting cable (US$30+ freight) Should be able to get a cable for cheaper then that. I just got a serial cable for mine for AU$22 on ebay. All I need now is a null modem DB9 male/male connector so I can connect the two serial cables. I could have got a cable to go from the GPS to the Palm for $39...

Re: Hide to Find Cache Ratio

What would it be like if Geocaching.com had a find/hide cache ratio that they maintained? Something like for every 30 found they had to hide 1. What if users were not allowed to log anymore caches untill they hid another cache? Do you think that would change the ammount of caches hidden? Would peop...

well I downloaded a palm emulator to test out the software on while I wait for the palm to turn up. Well Cetus is very good and the website had loads of info but I never counted on the palm not being multi-tasking. I've never used a PDA before. I got the GPS talking to GPilots and it looks like it w...

Cetus GPS and GPilots software for the palm

Hi all I just bought a Palm M500 on ebay which I was going to use for caching. I have a yellow etrex and as it does not have much memory for storing tracks on long trips, I was thinking how I could use the Palm for that job. I like to upload the tracks to ozi for viewing. After doing a search I came...

Hi I like the idea. I had a look at the UK site and noticed that they already started out with list of the trig sites. Is there a list for Australia. I did look for one a while back and did not come up with one. I did go and see the Dept of Natural Resources once here in QLD to get some info on some...
