Re: Uploading caches to Nuvi 1450T

Not sure why that's happening. Are you using the Garmin POI loader or exporting from Gsak , It's been a long time since I've done this method Exporting from GSAK. I have never used the Garmin POI program for any of my Garmins, always GSAK. Download the Garmin POI loader and give that a try, I use i...

Re: Uploading caches to Nuvi 1450T

Went to select the next one and the Cache name highlighted in blue, stayed like that for a couple of seconds and then the screen went blank and it shut down. After ...

Re: In Car Navigators - Which is best?

When I saw it realised I had wondered if the new Garmin Montana might make a good car/caching GPS, but I think it lacks voice which is vital for in car use... And for the price you can get a Nuvi *and* an Oregon and have the best of both worlds! ;-) Doesn't the Montana have voice when it's in the c...

Re: Iphone Geocaching vs Hand Held GPS

Out in the open the iphone is ok but next to tall buildings it is hopeless.
I only use my iphone as a backup or if I don't have my real GPSr with me

Re: In Car Navigators - Which is best?

Who on here has ever had their Garmin or Tom Tom fail within 2 years from purchase.
There might be some models to stay away from.
Nothing out there is going to be 100% reliable

Re: In Car Navigators - Which is best?

I can't answer that question , all I know is you need a 3G version on the iPad to use the maps. A Data logger or Blue tooth type GPSr is a better way, BUT what a lot of us in SA use is the 7" chinese GPSr . The IGo8 is a nice program and it has many tracks in the Mt Cole area which the city Navigato...
