Re: Garmin Oregon 650

I have the Oregon 600 for about a week now, and yes its nice but that Capacitive touch screen is very sensitive so you might need to assign a Toggle Lock screen to user-button to avoid tapping functions when you are navigating or hung around your neck etc.. There is a setting to reduce the screen s...

Re: Garmin Oregon 650

...Personally if you have a smart phone I don't see a reason to buy the 650 vs 600. Btw cartographics did have some in stock you might want to call them they had a discount for geocachers We now have a 650 as well. One advantage they have over the 600 is that they have double the internal memory. W...

Re: Canada Caching

you know there are over 100,000 caches in Canada right? Only 31,000 in British Columbia though http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?state_id=64 That's less than a week's worth of pocket queries! If you know where you are going to be, you can use GSAK's "Geocaching.com access/Get geocaches......

Re: Another GSAK question

Once you have your database sorted using Ian's suggestion(s), you should do any future exercises like this in a separate database (ie not your default one). If you have GSAK V8, you can easily identify caches that none of you and your friends have found by using the "Geocaching.com access" menu. Use...

Re: Oregon 550

I watched Mr Coffee get one like this going on saturday night. Power off. Press power to turn it on. While it is starting, click the power button 3 times fairly quickly, pause for a second, then click power button 3 times again. Might have to try this a couple of times.

Re: PC connection oregon

I've noticed that, if I turn my Oregon on before connecting to the PC, it's much more likely to go into USB mode when connected than if it's turned off.

Re: BIG Little Geocaching Event

I am very interested in this event, it sounds great. We go down to Warrnambool every school holidays, and I noticed Nelson is not too far from Warrnambool. Would we be alright if we stayed in Warrnambool and travelled up to Nelson each day? We always stay with family in Warrnambool. It's 15...

Re: Oregon 450 issues with multi caches

The number of caches in your GPX file isn't anywhere near the 5000 cache limit, so that shouldn't be a problem. How many logs do you load for each cache? I've heard somewhere that too many logs can cause memory issues, but that's also likely to be more of an issue if you are getting near the 5000-c...

Re: Anyone know what sistemas are made of?

This has probably been asked elsewhere but... Does anyone know what type of plastic sistemas are made of? Or more to the point what glue sticks to them well? :-k They have the Recycling Code 5, which is for polypropylene. Very difficult to glue, and generally requires surface pre-treatment (same ap...
