Re: Locationless Caches

I don't mind them, I do enjoy them. But... I have no idea what to look for anymore. As you mentioned there are so many. Even if I do manage to remember something to get a photo of I can't find the page to log as there are lots that are cryptically named. An example off the top of my head is cheeter ...

Re: Phones & GPS

I use my phone mostly, its easier and (generally) has decent enough GPS. That is if I remember to turn off all the features that supposedly make it more accurate, they instead make it about 50m less accurate. I also have one of the old yellow garmin etrex H, hence why the phone is easier. I will onl...

Re: 100 Trig find reward

WooHoo. I finally got to the 100. Although it means that I've knocked off the easy ones so now I actually have to put thought into the next 100.

Re: Your First Cache

Mine was "The tale of esperinto santo" or something like that. The cache itself was a bit of sewer pipe with caps hidden under some rocks I think, maybe even pained green or brown , I'm not sure. I more remember planning it, printing out the cache description (obviously before the smart phone was a ...

Re: Report GCA Site issues here

Dunno if the error is on the GCA end or mine but I just tried to access the site and got an error page with: Your connection is not private Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.geocaching.com.au (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVA...

Honestly the only thing that surprises me about this is that it didn't happen earlier

I second that recommendation. Went there for my honeymoon. Lovely island and an amazing experience to watch the volcano erupt in front of you

Re: Is Geocaching Australia worth pursuing?

I vote for keeping it. All my hides are on GCA for 2 reasons. Mainly I want to see GCA succeed, the stats, the helpfulness of the developers, the fact you're not in it to remove the very little money I have in my wallet these days, the helpfulness of the developers (yes I know that's repeated, it's ...

Re: The LGA Challenge

Some people in red shirts tried another scheme. It didn't work very well and things like ambition and hard work weren't encouraged or rewarded. People got shot. Well that's because they were extras in the first attempt, and as such on lookers expected them to die first. In later series of star trek...

Creating imaginary caches while importing GPX file

It seems I imported the wrong GPX file into GCA to update my find stats  and by importing this file it created a new cache with the code "GC40GT0 40GT0" obviously that's not going to link to a real cache (although the name and first part of the GC code are related to a real cache) but is it po...

I would say if they are in sequence along a trail/road with a similar naming convention/ theme, are easy to get to and don't serve a pupose other gaining numbers ("Teaching" people about a series of things like different AFL teams or Navy ships is not a purposeful justification, that can be done in ...
