Good idea Cit. I'd suggest you start an entire Happy Geocachers breakaway organisation but I think we've got enough to worry about here

I'm very keen on this idea and am pleased it seems to be getting quite a thorough examination. Sadly, I'm too tired and too clagged up with the 'flu to be able to contribute much to the discussion at this point, so I look forward to seeing how things have panned out tomorrow. Keep up the good fight ...

Yeah, I dunno. I think I'm going to stick to "browsing" for a while. Much safer option for someone with foot-in-mouth disease!! :) Don't even think of it. NO-ONE has more right to be here than anyone else and we can all speak our minds. Not everyone will agree but I guarantee they'll all support th...

Apologies for earlier tantrum  Probably suffering from late-night-itis. One thing you learn real quick around here is that the forum does a lousy job at transmitting true intent. I'm in a few forums (fora?) and they all have their fair share of PERCEIVED hostility followed by several p...

what if a reviewer _reviewed_ a cache as opposed to _approved_ it? ie like a movie reviewer reviews a movie and gives a thumbs up or whatever. so if you are like aussiecoder and appreciate someone having a quick look over your stuff before you let it go live, you can submit it to a reviewer and the...

Random lunch time thought... How about something like a "Respected Cacher" rating along the following lines: Newbies have a rating of zero, so all their caches must be approved in the normal sense. Once they place a cache and it's been found and given the thumbs up by say 5 other "Respected Cachers...

An excellent summation Mr Gecko. I think we can probably put this thread to bed now and I will run off and prepare my TB hotel cache, coming soon to an airport near you (as long as you live in Brisbane that is!).

Thanks, all, for the input.
Simon.

Logging a Locationless cache 10 times.....I am against that 100% The term stat whore comes to mind :!: :x Whoa there...I certainly didn't intend this thread to go in this direction. However... having made such a comment (and I can only speculate on to whom you may be referring as a 'stat whore') I ...

Opinion seems to be echoing mine. I'm considering placing a TB Departure Lounge cache near Brisbane Airport, where I work, and was just canvassing ideas. I'll make sure I spell out on the description page that cachers should only log their first visit and that subsequent visits should just be noted....

Travel Bug Hotels

Hi all. Just curious... What's the generla opinion about logging finds on travel bug hotel type caches? I've had a look at some of the overseas ones and it appears that people have been logging a find everytime they swap a travel bug. Although I think it's a great idea to have a location that people...

My personal opinion: At three months, the owner should be notified to ascertain his/her intentions and given 1 month to take action. If the cache is not re-instated, re-stocked, repaired or re-located within this time it should be archived. Obviously, common sense should prevail in that there may be...
