What's HU?

I just came across a find log where they finished off with TNLNSL. HU. TFTC. What does HU stand for? I could just email the logger and ask, but it's more fun to try to work it out. I thought it might be a typo, but I checked some other logs by the same cacher and they also finish off with that line....

Re: Pronounciation of caching

I realise there is little point in flogging this very dead horse, but I've just spent an idle few minutes re-reading this whole thread and these points seem to stand out to me: 1. The "cash" pronunciation is often referred to as "American", but it is just as much "English" - ask any geocacher in Eng...

And of course 101010 in binary is 42 - the answer to Life, The Universe and Everything! :)

Re: Real or Bogus cacher "dadandadd"

I think they're legit. They just logged a find for 7 June 2007 on my cache "20km Hike". I have replaced the log book since then and still have the old one. There is a log by them in the book on 7 July 2007. OK, they got the date wrong - either when they signed the logbook or in the log they just pos...

Re: From Publish to Log ! - an FTF record?

In some cases the time from published to FTF can be negative! I know of one case where a cache was found before it was published. The cacher involved was checking a spot he planned to place a cache and found an unpublished cache already there. I imagine there have been other examples like that.

Link in Cache updates email

The cache updates email has a link to the wiki at the end of it.
I used this link and then clicked on "edit your profile" on the wiki page but this link didn't work.
How do you edit your profile to change your cache updates preferences?

Cache size for "fake object" geocaches

The Wiki is quite clear about the size limits for standard cache containers to decide whether they are micro, small etc., but I couldn't find anything to answer the following question: where the cache is a fake (bolt, rock, pine cone . . ), is the size you specify for the cache the size of the objec...

Kevin
So long as you want to buy at least 10, you can get them for under $3 each (postage included) on eBay at the moment

. . I notice its rather common in Oz. I agree, though I'm not sure exactly which meaning of "common" you are using here: having no special distinction or quality? of or associated with the great masses of people? of low or inferior quality or value? lacking refinement or cultivation or taste?

Geocache as a suspected drug drop

I'm sure geocachers have been suspected of hiding/seeking drug drops before, but I thought the latest (28/3/09) log on Down the Drain # 1 was an interesting example of the consequences. The log of 28/3/09 by wombat 1 was: What a surprise was instore for us today as we are new at this. As we were loo...

Re: What do people do with old cache log book??

... If you're keen, you can cross-check the names in the book with the online logs, just to see if there's any undeserved smileys . . . I have kept and had a look through some old log books from my caches. I don't recall ever spotting an undeserved smiley - but I've often found a few finds in the l...
