Re: Two million caches

Now over 1000 notes - and the two "Found it" logs have been corrected.
Interesting that the cache is called '"Overwatch" given that it must be the most looked at page on GC recently!

Re: Two million caches

875 notes and two "Found it" logs (one from UK, one from Germany).
I wonder if the owner even knows about it yet!

Re: Any road rules experts who can clarify this?

I also noticed that the road had a solid single centre line for some distance either side of GZ... I've never seen a single solid line on any road in SA. They are always double solid lines. So where exactly was this? :-k Have a look at the Google Maps street view image of the road near S 32 54.860 ...

Re: Any road rules experts who can clarify this?

Thanks for the clarifications given above.
Your references are a lot clearer than the one I was using - the 357 page PDF of "SA Road Rules"!

Any road rules experts who can clarify this?

I was looking at a possible spot for a (non-urban) roadside cache, but I decided against it as I thought the roadside verge was too narrow for safe parking. I also noticed that the road had a solid single centre line for some distance either side of GZ and I remembered that I had done a cache a few ...

Are you going to let us know the magic combination, please?

Re: "Invisible ink" and UV torches

I wrote the coordinates in a spiral pattern, south going one way & east going the other. Yes, you can see that something is written on the paper, but you can't make out what it is until you use the UV light. Thanks for that idea - I'll give it a try. I assume you write it while illuminating your wr...

"Invisible ink" and UV torches

I bought a pen/torch combination which was supposed to enable you to write an “invisible” message which would be visible using the torch. I assume the ink fluoresces when subject to the “UV” component of the torch’s light. This worked fine when I tried it inside. I had planned to use this in a multi...

Re: GSAK Question

I think one of the options under Search/Filter/Logs will do this (if you set it correctly!)

"Throwdown" or "angel cache"?

I have noticed the following situation happening a number of times and wondered what the attitude of other geocachers is to it. An “experienced” geocacher goes to try to find a cache which has a number of DNF s on it. They decide the cache really has gone and place a new cache at GZ and log a find. ...

Re: Tb

You can find geocoins near your home location using this link:http://www.geocaching.com/track/geocoin.aspx

Or, you could create a PQ which gives only caches with travel bugs/geocoins.

Re: Daylight Savings

Well I headed of caching today with the intent to go to an event at 12 noon and a hour (or two) before hand I still had no idea what the time was... Had to ring another cacher and ask "What is the time?"... He's got it written on a bit of paper ..... (See who knows.....) Do you mean who knows about...

Re: Coords in Word file to map?

I'm not sure what you folks are going on about.
Would these things work on my TRS-80?

More seriously - yes, I do have GSAK, but I'm still having fun playing with GPS Visualizer and one new thing per day is enough for me!
