Re: Night Caches

I think I agree with Papa Bear - having a tradition of putting "(night cache)" in the title is maybe a good way to go. Then you can simply search on names with "night" in them and get what you're looking for. Would you define night caches as a multi? If you had listed co-ordinates to start from and ...

Re: Night Caches

Night cache event on Halloween - what a BRILLIANT idea :P

If there were enough people interested, we could make some new night caches in Sydney and have a mass publishing for Halloween. Anyone interested? I have one in mind for Parramatta area.

Re: Night Caches

Night vs Day: I reckon you can try any cache at night or in the day - either are valid finds. But most caches are easier to find in the day so it's mostly logical to look in the day if that suits you. On the other hand, caches that are SPECIFICALLY designed to be done at night are generally pretty h...

Night Caches

I did my first night cache last night and it was soooooo much fun :D We thought it would be great to do some more and then I started thinking about how to find them. I wonder if they ought to be a separate Type of cache? Of course, there are problems with this because some night caches are Multi and...

Viewing GCA only caches on the map

Now that I've got into the GCA site a bit more, I've found some really good ways to view stuff. I especially like the way you can click on "google maps" and get a really good overview of all the caches. It's great to be able to filter out my finds but here's the question: Can you somehow view just G...

Re: GCA Incorrectly records GC caches as archived

Yeah, it's very annoying having so many caches! I just don't seem to have time to find enough to reduce my "not yet found" list before more new ones are published and the "not yet found" number actually increases :D Thanks very much for the explanation and I really appreciate all the hard work you p...

GCA Incorrectly records GC caches as archived

I have noticed recently that the Daily GCA Cache Update email that I get sometimes has a long list under "Archived Caches" and "Unavailable Caches" - only to find they are still active on GC and there is no evidence that anything has changed. For example today GC1VPWE is marked as archived and unava...

Re: New Function - A few testers wanted (GPX by EMail)

I'd like to give it a try. I haven't done any GCA caches yet becasue it seems a bit harder to get all the info together and the Pocket Query in GC is so easy. (Plus there are so many caches I haven't found yet, I don't seem to be in any danger of running out of "to find" lists yet!) I'd love to have...

Re: How many FTF finds have you had?

I've had no FTFs and I can see why with all you guys having hundreds each  I think those more experienced cachers ought to act like ladies and gentlemen and stand back so some of us newer cachers are able to get our information together and work out where to go and arrange to get there somehow...

Hi truckiecraig. I wonder if you have noticed the "hint" that is often listed on the cache details? When you are new, this is often a very helpful way to find caches. In this case the hint sounds helpful, "close to the billboard" ought to put you pretty near where you ought to be searching. Another ...
