Re: What Have You Lost/Found?

This sounds oddly familiar http://coord.info/GC18RMG Ah...something I'm constantly reminded of. Thanks for bringing it to fore once again Big Matt.   I've been good the last couple of years and only lost another 3 pairs..... One was in WA, and two here in Canberra.....one at Eagl...

Re: Some BIG caching days ahead?

We need to have individual records identified separately to team records which would be much easier. Many hands make light work, or in this case, many eyes find cache quickly. A little off topic i know but still related... A similar philosophy could be adopted for a consecutive days caching streak ...

Re: Some BIG caching days ahead?

Mind you it just wouldn't feel the same based on power trails... :-k I was involved in the group from NZ that set a record of 195 finds in Adelaide on 12th December 2007 - waaay before power trails exisited. You're right - its not the same, however the finer end of it (the difference between a 450 ...

Re: Some BIG caching days ahead?

I reckon that 500 finds in a 24 hour period is now reasonably possible - but only for a team of people who haven't already visited the above mentioned power trails... I wonder how long it'll be? Maybe it's time to get the band back together :-" Mind you it just wouldn't feel the same based on power...

Re: costs to use nearmap now?

Thanks for the link FarmerFrentzen and caughtatwork - I think I actually had that page bookmarked before getting a new computer. Wondering why I couldn't find it this time.... :? caughtatwork - why do I need a licence? In the past I already registered as a personal user and my login still works. Do...

Re: costs to use nearmap now?

I just went to use nearmap today for the first time in a few months and found that you can't get in without paying a fee. Am I at the right site? http://www.nearmap.com? If I'm at the right site does anyone know when this change happened? Myself and hundreds of other students are supposed to use it...

Re: Collective noun for a group of cachers

After attending the OzMega in Albury and meeting lots of interstate cachers (but very few NSW cachers - did any actually attend), it got me thinking, is there a collective noun for a group of cachers. I would like to say a swarm because at some of the Albury cachers there were just lines of cachers...

Re: OZ MEGA ALBURY WODONGA

We got home yesterday and had a great time at the Mega Event. We spent quite a bit of time on site, but did manage to grab three caches in nearby Yackandandah (beautiful town nearby). Met many friendly geocachers and really enjoyed Saturday night's entertainment. Thank you to the committee for orga...

Re: Most DNFs in One Day

http://geocaching.com.au/stats/cachers/all/au/0045_cachers_by_did_not_finds_single_day There you go. I knew it was in the 30's. Given we were all together on the day those stats should be the same. Looks like some of us missed our logs on a few. I log all my DNF's  hey Matt the Graph shows...

Re: Iphone battery life?

Given my Garmin is not set up for paperless caching I tend to use my iPhone for the paperless caching functionality and for logging my finds into field notes, however I still use my Garmin to actually locate GZ. I have found the official Groundspeak app to be very battery hungry and now only use the...
