Re: [OT] Is it HOT enough for youse?

Sydney has escaped most of this heatwave at the moment. I went caching today and it topped out at 31 degrees at Richmond, which is the heat capital of Sydney. Tomorrow we may get a balmy 36 out that way. Sydney is often split into the cool coast and the baking west, guess where I live, yep, the baki...

Australian one day record

It seems that we have a new one day caching record for OZ cachers.
The Rats, Big Matt and Shell, Steeba and Farmer Frentzen did a raid on the caches of Adelaide on the 17th of last month and came away with 210 finds!
Congrat's all round...

Re: Snakes, Snakes, Snakes

MOST snakes will try to get away from you, except in my experience, the Eastern Brown. This snake is always in an angry mood, and will attempt to come into the strike position and show aggression right from the start. And yes you are right, a broad bandage should be in everyones first aid kit, we al...

Re: Snakes, Snakes, Snakes

JABs and Code 1 had a close call at my Rocks Galore cache with a pair of mating redbelly blacks.
Sounds like a cache find that Tangles would have commented on!

Cache hints

I have had some cachers send me PMs recently requesting some extra clues to some of my hides, after they said that they couldn't find the cache. My only problem was that they hadn't logged any DNFs on the caches, so I suggested that I would be more than happy to supply some extra clues if they logge...

Re: GID or Reflective Powder - Where to buy?

OK, I managed to buy some of this paint at my local Bunnings. The White Knight reflect-all costs $24 for a 340gm pressure pack! I also bought a pressure pack of plasti-cote glow in the dark, 284gm for $20! It also comes with a long list of harmful side effects!! The reflective paint is brilliant, an...

Re: Who to blame? The cacher? The GPS? Moi?

Someones easy find can always be someone elses hard find, it's all relative......That said, I had trouble at a supposedly easy find with a DNF, and one of my geo friends found it later and logged a 'how could you miss it Rainbow Spirit!' Oh the shame..... :D

Re: GID or Reflective Powder - Where to buy?

The reflective paint and glow in the dark powder appears to be available at the big hardware stores, I will try to get some and report back.

Re: Personal Safety

Things like this can happen to anyone at any time. It can be very unnerving, the first thing to do is to get their rego number, then report them to the police ASAP. One night as a SES duty officier I went to a job in a normal suburban street, to do a recce'. When I left, a car stopped in front of me...

Re: Who to blame? The cacher? The GPS? Moi?

Just came back from a 2x2 DNF, DNFed these two 2.5/3s a year ago, DNFed them again! And to add salt to the wound, I mentioned in my log last time at one of them, that I put my bag down on a bull ants nest, this time they climbed up my trousers, so I had to do a Tangles like cache log and whip off my...
