Re: Scouting Cachers (again)
Would also like to keep informed on this one as like Bronnie we know that Branch can be a bit slow at times to get a message to us, so hopefully the forum is quicker.

Well done Megateam
Aussiepuschaks, Little Blue Elephant and Unicornnikita will all be there!
That counts as 5 in total, from the ACT.

Re: Australia's next Mega Event launch.
I don't think that place is still there. I have a night cache just down the road from where the Barringo Wildlife Reserve was, but I think it closed a few years ago.

Re: Australia's next Mega Event launch.
An area that can handle an influx of large numbers of people fairly easily - particularly campers - maybe a place where a great race is held? A unique inhabitant - perhaps a little penguin, unique to Australia. A location >100km from any current guesses, perhaps Phillip Island, Victoria? And yes, fa...

Re: Guess where the next Aussie Mega will be - Expires Thursday
Ballarat and Bendigo are too far apart for the event, but any of the NSW / VIC border towns - Albury/Wodonga, Echuca/Moama, Mildura/Buronga (Covers VIC and NSW and a stones throw from SA) would probably have two mayors and two state tourism authorities. Could do "Canberra and Queenbeyan" but we need...

Re: Australia's next Mega Event launch.
After lots of plans for 2010 we missed the first one, so looking forward to attending the next - woo hoo and great job to those who are organising this!

Re: Cemetery Caching ?
And the symbol for a virtual cache is of course, quite relevant to a cemetery. I agree with the historic nature of cemetery caches and have wandered many to pick up clues for multis, where the container is just outside or in a non burial area. Cemetery caches are some of my favorites due to the hist...

Re: Tell happy/funny stories here!
Awesome logs Yurt - classic signs that caching is your life and there's not too much that will stop you on your journey. Had us laughing this morning as we read your logs knowing our adventures today will be boring now in comparison!!

I've stayed conservative at the moment - only using one waypoint for each challenge. If the interpretation changes and I can use a move in and a move out, then I can claim a few more. <p> I still think the biggest challenges of all will be getting the TB back into the country in the first place, and...

As a non FTF claimant, I'm more interested in the places geocaching takes me, rather than the FTF prize. Not that I haven't tried, and the chase has been fun when I've done it, but for some (and probably more than less), caching isn't just the statistics but the places you go. Will I still try for a...

We're in for sure. 2A3C in a large tent (or maybe two by then) staying on the campground - I've seen quite a few of these scout camp grounds before (in Victoria) and I can assure all non-campers that the facilities are usually very good. Will pass this link onto several ACT and VIC cachers that I se...

Anyone using MacCaching
Hi, I'm fairly new to geocaching, using a Garmin Etrex Vista and Mac (OS X 10.5) and iPod. I've started using MacCaching for paperless caching and want to become more efficient with it. Does anyone else out there use MacCaching, and if so what format do you save files to your iPod? Can you provide a...
